I deleted firefox and didnt save my bookmarks!! I need them!!

I had 2 versions of firefox on my pc, and both had bookmarks. So i deleted one program and when i opened the other firefox there was no more bookmarks!! How do i get them back? I managed to use get data back and it found the back up Json files but it wont accept them? when i use a json viewer in firefox to view the backups i get "There was an error parsing the json document. The document may not be well formed.'' I really only need a few sites back but stuck now?

Try a system restore to a point in time before you deleted your other version of Firefox, and then make sure you save your bookmarks to an external source before you delete it (Firefox) again.

Welcome there may be one last resort before the recovery service. A bit like using atomic weapons to kill a fly, but how about a system image.

If the data is corrupted I guess you've lost the files unless you are prepared to pay a lot of money to get them back.

Can you now see the value of system restore and regular backups?

I just woke up this morning and was reading this post......
Why not download FF and sign in under your old account and pluck those addresses/contacts then transfer to
a stick and then uninstall FF?

Or do I need more caffeine to be up to speed?

Not sign in just install FF and log in and see if your contacts are visible again.
Highlight them and copy and paste in notepad then print them.
That way you can enter them wherever you want.
Or............
Copy and paste or drag them to a usb stick.

Not that it makes any difference....How many did you lose?
How about contacting FF and see if they can help you out?

Read your first post....You had 2 versions of FF right?
Do you remember which version you deleted with hope to re-install that one?

Not much more I can think of other than digging deep into your brain and searching for the bookmarks you need.
Then going to links and adding it all over again.
You aren't the first one to do that as I have been down that road before and over time I book marked and saved them in a secure place.

Download GetDiz and install it (also helpful for opening nfo or other text based files that notepad has issues with). Right click the json file and choose open with. Navigate to GetDiz and open the file. The urls will be highlighted in green and you can click on them to open the webpage and you can bookmark them again.

The json files will be stored in

C:\users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\st23ybtb.default\bookmarkbackups

Also,( bit like closing the barn door once the horse has bolted) use xmarks, it backs up your bookmarks online then you can use your bookmarks wherever you are .
also it syncs every time you save a bookmark ,
when you open your browser it loads your bookmarks,
it can sync across several computers and across different browsers.
