Has the mail body been downloaded on the 2nd machine?
On my 2009 version of WLM there is both a search box and an edit/find/message dialog option. The box only searches the mail headers while the dialog lets you specifiy where to search (i.e. you have to put your search terms in the "message" field if you want to search message bodies).

It depends on the type of account setup you have. For example, if you are using IMAP only the mail headers are visible and the bodies of the messages are not downloaded to your PC until you double click on them to see them. When an email is viewed (or opened) the IMAP account body is downloaded and then can be searched (in my case, using the "message" field of the edit/find/message dialog). Alternatively you can choose the option to "send and receive" at startup or manually choose "send and receive" to get the message bodies.
If your accounts are POP3 then the bodies and headers are downloaded together when you choose "Send and Receive" or automatically if you have chosen that option.

1 - Uninstall WLM completely - including deletion of the email folder contents physically
2 - Create the folder where you want to store emails
3 - Add this email folder to Indexing folders
4 - Reinstall WLM
5 - Point email folder to the one defined in step 2
6 - Add your hotmail account
I wonder why in your case only one machine had the problem and the other did not. Was indexing set up as you suggest for the one that was working properly to begin with?

I guess it might be because the store folder was changed and afterwards was added to the Indexing folders list.
It started to work properly after I deleted all new email folder contents, re-populated it from scratch while its folder was already defined in the indexing options.
