I returned from a 3 day trip to my parents' house today, and I naturally just made a beeline for the computer once I entered my home.
I log in, put on some music (through YouTube, I know, I'm a disgrace) and head for the shower. Halfway my cleaning-up process I notice the music stopping, and after I finish I see that the pc is back at the log-in screen.
"Weird", I think to myself, "I remember no such behaviour when I left my dear computer". So I log back in again.
Fast forward 20 minutes, and while I'm just talking to some friends on skype, I receive a BSoD, the second one in hindsight. BAD_POOL_CALLER haunts the upper parts of the wretched, luminous blue screen. I restart, worried, that it must be my sound cards. I've been having a bit of trouble with the external and internal one conflicting, one I solved by just disabling the internal one. I recheck that it's disabled through the device manager, just for good measure, and I find it normally not-active.
Alas, the bemusements of the internet make quick work of my worries and it's not long until I'm invited into a Dota 2 game by one of my friends.
Though my entertainment is to be cut short. 20 minutes into the game, the screen freezes for a couple of second and I receive a BSoD, with the BAD_POOL_CALLER error code.
I re-start. I re-join the game, to not ruin the experience for anyone else. 20 minutes in, I receive the same BSoD. I manage to finish the game and here I am, asking you gentlemen for help.
Could anyone be of assistance, if I provide thee with these .dmp files? I'm sure we can track down the process that caused the conflict and error.
