I was able to use Hiren BootCD USB to gparted resize/copy my sata SSD.
My SSD displays just fine in this PC, checked for errors, nada, all good.

But. The MBR is not right. It would not boot in PC2.

So I booted (pc2) from the Win7 disk and chose repair.
This asks for which drive to repair - none were listed.
Click Load Drivers, navigate to the C:\NVIDIA\15.56\IDE\Win764\NVstor64 (not the nvstor64.sys)

This results in a list of the-same-thing-to-chose-from

Gee thanks NVIDIA.........................................................

I tried every single one TWICE! No drives listed.
I connected to a different SATA cable, same result.

GParted opens and tries to read the drive, never does. Just keeps trying to read.

First, have you used their tool to update the firmware for the drive ?
Have you set BIOS to AHCI mode ?

Finally for now, how old is you motherboard ? (make and model would be handy + rest of spec)

Yes and Yes, the bios is set for AHCI, and the first thing I did was update the firmware.

I've got the system booted from the original drive just fine, and I can read the SSD as a secondary drive. Here I set the partition active and rebooted from the SSD but it had an error screen...

The windows repair could see the drive again...
1st repair, It repaired something, reboot.
2nd repair, Boot manager failed to find OS Loader.

While in the repair world I hit Shift-F10 and ran diskpart and set the partition active (tho I did this before).

Then reboot from SSD and it booted fine..... yeh....

^^
