Hi Archangel83,

Sorry but I cant see the image very clearly.

Download and install Xirrus:
Wi-Fi Inspector | Xirrus

It is easier to understand than insider sometimes :).

With that many wireless channels being used in your area it's not going to get much bandwidth, plus you have a very weak signal to begin with, not to mention your stuck at 54mbps speed which is very old school, I'd say this connection won't be too great no matter which channel you use. Although channel 8 looks to be ok for now.

In your scenario I'd replace the router or obtain a wireless access point that can handle wireless N and also has the newer 5.0Ghz frequency because it has the potential for much more bandwidth and clear channels that aren't already being used by fifty people.

I would also either move the router to a more ideal location for a better connection or install an access point very close to where you need to connect from. Setting up a wireless router or access point with the 5.0Ghz frequency and setting it to use wireless N only in close proximity to your computer would be ideal here.

wireless N wont help maybe with the upcoming playstation 4 but not for the playstation 3. It uses wireless G I scaned again much closer to my router and my god all my neighbors wifi is on channels 1,6,11 I understand these are non overlapping channels but their all over crowded would that not affect speed and performance? I had some one tell me that in my situation I should work on channels 4 or 8 not ideal but their in-between channels 1-6 and 6-11. I just want to avoid drilling holes in my new apartment and voiding my security deposit for modifying my place just to run lan cable. If i do get wireless N will it still work for my ps3? Will I be using the 5ghz channels or will it just default back to the 2.4ghz channel since the ps3 is wireless G?

Have you considered using lan over power lines? There are plugin adapters available that you can plug lan cables into but, instead of connecting devices directly by a lan cable, they use the existing house electrical system as the network.
