Solved BSOD after factory restore on 2 separate machines

I have gotten blue screen of death on two separate machines I have worked on lately. Both windows 7 and both blue screened going into windows after I did a factory restore wiping out everything. On one I installed from a windows 7 cd and it fixed the problem. on another I had the restore disks I had made and used them instead of the factory restore on the drive. Both solved the blue screen problem but not why they where blue screening. before neither machine would get into windows without blue screening even in safe mode. Now the problem is why did both blue screen after a complete factory restore... The only thing I can figure out is something is in the restore partition causing this in both machines. And btw, these machines are from to unrelated clients. Just wondering if anyone else has been getting this problem lately.

Test the hardware:
RAM - Test with Memtest86+
HD Diagnostic

Or Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Tested both machines all the hardware is fine. been doing this nearly 20 years.
And I did do a clean install with OEM cd, that's the only thing that worked. The issue is why the restore partition is giving a BSOD error when you do a clean install that way. would only give the error when installing services and tried 3 times with restore partition.

The information you've provided is too generic for any serious diagnosis. Without actual BSOD error messages, hardware configurations, testing you've done, etc, we can't even guess as to why 2 different computers would have BSODs.

You don't have to be specific if all the hardware has tested out fine and these machines shipped with windows 7. I don't need a dump file to fix a computer. Isolate what is causing the problem then test hardware, replace with known good hardware. if you get the same error it is not the hardware. other way to isolate the issue is to put the Hard drive on a different windows 7 machine and see if the error goes away when you do a system restore. The hardware might not be the same but it would not give you a BSOD error. If you did get the BSOD error on the new machine that would mean there is either something wrong with the Hard drive (which tested fine) or their is a problem with the restore software on the hard drive. I would tend to believe the manufactures test that says the hard drive is fine.

Windows never loaded to install drivers. Gets to the starting services part of the install, and would give me a BSOD. The issue is that it only did that with the restore partition. I re-installed without formatting, using an OEM cd and it works fine now.

No ram checks out great. plus if its a ram problem your not going to be able to install windows without other errors coming up.
