Solved Frequent BSODs after changing Graphics Card

It doesn't seem to make a difference. I really don't know what to do. Probably, I will be taking it to the shop again and again as long as they make it work.

Latest minidumps attatched. There was something about dxgmms1.sys.

I have asked for help from other BSOD analysts as I am running out of ideas. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes and a fresh mind will help.

If you look at your first screen shot of CPUz it shows the bus speed as 240. If I am not mistaken it should be 200. That is why your ram is running at 1600 instead of 1333. AMD boards usually require voltage adjustments to run ram at that speed. Due to the system instability, I would thing you would be better off, reducing your bus speed to 200 and set the ram timings at default, which should be 9-9-9-24. That should put your ram at stock speeds. As it stands now, it appears to me that your ram is overclocked and may be the cause of the instability.

Also in that same screeen shot, your core speed is 3840MHz. The stock speed for your CPU is 3200MHz. That is caused by the increase in bus speed.

In your BIOS there should be a setting for CPU base clock, CPU frequency ro something like that if you have your setting to Manual instead of AUTO. Change that base clock to 200. Your RAM is 1333and AMD is very picky about overclocking it. Leave the CPU multiplier at 16 and you'll have the 3.2GHz CPU frequency.

I agree with the advice from essenbe and Britton30.

Set the bus speed to 200, then the RAM will be at 1333MHz, manually set first four RAM timings to 9-9-9-25 and the Command Rate to 2T.
Check your DRAM and CPU-NB Vdd (IMC) voltage in your BIOS and post here.
You will likely need a IMC voltage bump with 8GB RAM.

I'll try to find this settings and change them as you said. If it doesn't help, I'll take the PC to the shop tomorrow.

OK, I'll do this next time when I restart.

For now, I noticed that the FSB is shown to be 200 MHz (and it's grey) but in the CPU line it shows 3840 (240x16). BTW, the RAM speed is also adjusted to 1333 MHz and also grey.

EDIT: I don't know how, but I changed all settings as you said. It was all fine in BIOS, but when I saved and restarted - CPU-Z tells me that it's back at 240 MHz (FSB) and 1600 (RAM) and 3840 (CPU). It looks like it couldn't start at default settings you had provided, so it went back to the last good configuration. Weird...

In each one of those settings where it says AUTO, tab to them , tap Enter and set to manual, you should see some available settings then. With CPU Core Contol on manual you should be able to adjust it back to 3.2GHz

This CPU Core Control allows me to disable cores, but not to adjust frequency. In fact, all frequncies (FSB, RAM and CPU) change back to normal when I load fail-safe or optimized details, but then something happens and CPU-Z shows that it's back at overclocked settings. And when I get to BIOS the next time, it shows overclocked settings.

What do you think about reseting BIOS, clearing CMOS or something like that?

I'd see what you get by changing ANYTHING set to AUTO to manual first, CLR_CMOS would work too

I forgot: CPU Core Control is the only option with Manual to choose. Other Auto settings can be changed either to Disabled / Enabled or specified value (like x10 or something like that).

Check your motherboard manual. You may have a switch on your board that automatically overclocks the CPU. Most MSI boards do. Your manual will show the position for off / 10% /20%. Yours may be set for 20%.

If you are inclined to do so show a pic of each of those options with AUTO disabled. Essenbe has a good idea too about the switch.

For the BIOS options with only auto/enabled/disabled values available, does changing any of them from "auto" to "enable" allow you to change any additional options?

In the middle picture of your bios, try to scroll up to the very top where it says CPU frequency and dram frequency and see if you can change those values.

Thanks for all the help again. Unfortunately I can't try any of your tips, because my PC is currently at the shop so they can do something with it as it's their duty due to warranty.

It's hard to refer to all pieces of advice, but I will try:

1. I tried setting the frequency manually with those option previously set to AUTO, but it looked similar to the situation with fail-safe or optimized defaults - BIOS showed everything is OK, but when I save - something happens and it's back at overclocked settings.

2. I also tried changing options to DISABLE or ENABLE, although I probably haven't tried all the combinations. The only option that popped up was to disable selected cores.

3. Yes, I remember this switch. Too bad I can't remember how was it set. I think this might be the problem and now I feel I should have waited with taking it to the service. It's highly probable that I ****ed something up with this switch. 240 to 200 is clearly 20% more, so I think this may be the cause.

No problem at all. I hope they can fix it for you. Whatever the problem was, your 1333 MHz ram can't run at 1600 without a lot of timing and voltage tweeks. That may very well be much of your problem. And yes, I think it may be that switch on the motherboard. It automatically increases the bus frequency. Let us know how it comes out.
