I am been having a problem with my Gateway tablet laptop for some time now which I believed to be due to a bad wireless signal. However I have now moved to a location where I can connect via an Ethernet cable or Wireless and the problem persists.

I am able to view available wireless connections and attempt to connect to them, however upon trying I receive a "Connection to Network was Unsuccessful" message. I have tried resetting the modem and router, I have tried troubleshooting and all have not helped. Additionally when I plug into the modem or router directly I am still unable to connect to the Internet.

I have attached a screen shot of my recent attempt. Any help would be extremely appreciated being that this is now the only computer I have to work on.

I'd have to first see a screenshot of the ipconfig/all from your machine before I can tell you what's going on here. :)

If you have access to the routers set up page you should go into the wireless settings and use WPA2 security with AES encryption. You didn't mention what you are using now.

After that, if you can go into Manage Wireless Connections in the Network and Sharing Center then edit the wireless profile for this connection to use the same security and encryption.
