I'm wondering if I'm the only one having problems with Azureus on this, the final build.
If I do anything like copy or move files while Azureus is running, the laptop freezes and won't move. I have to hold the power button down til it shutsdown. Azureus can run fine in the background while I'm watching a movie or listening to music; the problem seems only to occur when I'm moving folders/files around.
I checked my cpu and ram usage while running Azureus and they're both fine. I'm guessing that for some reason, the cpu is maxing out and causing the laptop to lock up.
This is a major problem and never occured with ANY previous build so I'm really concerned that it's happening now.

Copying files is very cpu/ram intensive, and with 2 gigs of ram you may be running thin and swapping things to pagefile slowing the computer even more. You could run task manager (right click taskbar) and watch while files are being copied. that would tell you if you are running short on resources.

I used Azereus till I simply got tired of all the resources it was eating, so I switched to uTorrent ... never looked back! Try it, you'll like it!

It happened again just now while writing a reply. So it's not just when moving files around. The other thing is that if it was a resource problem, I would have suffered from it before but have never had a problem with any of the other builds. ONLY with this one.

If you think thats bad, try upgrading distros' in Linux ... when I tried to upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04, my screen resolution was borked, no audio, etc etc... of course I found workarounds but I would consider myself lucky if I were you ... it could be much worse!

This and limewire are the worst 2 p2p programs there are for spy-ware and viruses!!

Do yourself a favor and do what Tews says, use uTorrent

I wouldn't be surprised if you have spyware that is bogging down your system.
Once you have removed it, do a full scan of your PC!!

I'm gonna get rid of azureus as soon as my current d/l has finished (been meaning to for ages just too lazy). I'd be surprised if it's spyware (i'm well protected but i guess you never know). I still don't see why this is happenning now. The only thing that's changed is the win7 build, everything else is as it's been for ages.

you dont need to finish the download, just save the .torrent file, load it into Utorrent. Set the download directory to the directory the partial file has been downloaded to.

it will do a "Check" and continue the download.

Azureus is java bloatware.
Azureus = ~200mb+ ram

Im seeding about 100 torrents on utorrent right now and its using 18mb of ram.

Tip: Run utorrent as administrator, it makes it allocate space faster due to windows not zeroing the files for untrusted users.

I forgot which one I got but it's giving me major grief. It's not Azureus that's causing the lock ups because it's no longer installed and I'm still having problems. If I do a couple of things at once it's like my laptop goes into shock and just freezes. NEVER had this problem EVER until now so it must be this build. I'm holding out for a clean iso on technet but it continues I may have to go back to 7260 until then coz this is just not good enough.
