Checking my systems' reliability in the Windows 7 'Reliability Monitor' I have noticed a daily 'critical event'. The error report is as follows:

Now it doesn't seem to affect anything I do, but seeing's as this was a clean install just last week, and it's the only problem apparent, I'd like to get it sorted. Plus it's labelled a 'critical event' which somewhat concerns me.

It gets 'reported' to windows via the 'check for solutions' button on a daily basis, but I don't expect that does anything really.

Has anyone seen this, know what this means or how I can fix it?
Thank you for reading.

Haven't seen it, but the usual solution for errors of this sort is:
- download a fresh copy of the program from the Intel Download Center ( http://downloadcenter.intel.com )
- uninstall the current version from your system
- install the freshly downloaded copy
- monitor for further errors

Just FYI - if you are overclocking, you can expect odd/unexplained errors because you're pushing the hardware past it's intended usage.

OK I'll give that a try and keep the post updated.

Thank you for your suggestion.

It looks like you were right on the money!
Uninstalling, fresh install and restart.

Have restarted a few times (as this seemed to be when the error occurred) and checked the reliability monitor... it's all good and clear.

Thank you so very much. I just hope it stays running sweet now.

A fresh install of Windows 7 was the best thing I ever did. It runs as good as new again!
