Hi guysI have fresh installed windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my pc which now also have a Ssd hdd being the vertex 2-128 g and the asus p5pkl motherboard

Although I have tried, I could not find the achi setting in the bios so continued with the installation. Afterwards I could see that trim was enabled (by following the command promp)

I'm stil unable to trace the setting and searched the web, but cannot get an answer if achi is indeed enabled and working on my system

Hope someone here can help me with an answer?

It seems like you misspelled the motherboard. It's a p5kpl correct? There are many versions of that motherboard. Is it just a regular p5kpl?

That board doesn't support AHCI. Saw a hacked bios code that could be flashed to it, but that's just for "hobbyists." Looks like it raised other issues.
Just ignore it, or get a different MB, or maybe a card controller.
See below. Don't know if you can boot from it, so check first.
But my understanding is you'll still get good SSD performance without AHCI.
Maybe the SSD gurus will pop in.

You won't be able to update the firmware on the SSD, but the performance is still much better than a hard drive.
