Bah.. Bollywood's always been about singing and dancing brought to the next level anyway...

Watching a Bollywood film to me is like watching a 2 and a half hour long Indian musical with half an hour worth of plot added in between the dances..

Now, if a REALLY good Bollywood movie is what you're looking for, watch Kahaani.

Kahaani ...... great movie. But bollywood should not get the credit for it.

Other than one all the actors, the technicians, the director, the story writer, all are from an Indian regional film industry, west bengal. The entire film shoot in west bengal, produced in west bengal and everything .

Practically , West Bengal film industry is packed up with extremely talented personnel, only shortfall is money there, as the market is not that wide. If anybody interested, may have a look ..... Baishe Srabon (2011) - IMDb .... another exceptionally good movie.

I kinda always thought it was either Bollywood (Hindi) or Tamil productions from that region of the world!

As the tod, the market is small, and so money is less.

Otherwise, West bengal film industry produces better quality films, having both the entertainment and intellectual appeal .

The biggest thing I have against Bollywood movies is that too many are not in English. I refuse to read sub-titles, unless it is an exceptional old silent.

From those that I have seen (and by that I meant just happened to be on in the background), the actual film content was typically no more than half an hour. The rest was filled with dancing and singing or, as I call it, pointless prancing about.

Just my opinion, apologies to those who actually like these films.

On the other hand, singing and dancing can be better than movies that have no content...other than violence, profanity, etc.

Bollywood action movies rock, because they're usually so absolutely over the top.

Hero has a gun (one bullet left) and a knife; 3 bad guys incoming from front and each side. Throws knife at guy in the middle; while knife is in flight, shoots at it. Bullet hits knife, splits into two, and each half hits the guy on either side. The knife of course hits the guy in the middle.

AWESOME.

Mustn't forget, when explosions happen the hero never turns back to look at them, keeps on walking forward calmly (while putting on sunglasses).
