Solved Recurring BSODs only notice with FF/Opera open & Youtube

I have been getting recurring BSODs at random, for a while now. I'm not sure when it started but it's driving me mad now. I game on my rig for hours at a time (ME1&2, FC1&2, Dead Space, LockOn, COD, Oblivion, Project64, PSXe, etc.) and have never had, nor get, a BSOD while doing so O_o It only seems to happen when I have browser windows open (be it Fire Fox or Opera) and when YouTube tabs are present. It happens at random, sometimes I can surf and watch videos for 5hrs+, other times as soon as I play the first video. Sometimes I don't have to have the youtube tab active or the video playing. I can pause the vid, and be busy doing something else and it will BSOD.

I tried uninstalling any odd programs, making sure my drivers/Windows were up to date (updating Radeon drivers as I speak), and have downgraded my versions of both browsers and Flash. Still happens, this time it's happened twice today. I'm at a loss and hope someone here can help.

System was first powered up about February. OS installed same day.

I feel I should mention I ran disk cleanup several days ago so the number of minidumps left are only a few or so. Hopefully somebody can help me out =/

Not sure if it helps, but I have the CPU water cooled - I've kept a log over the past few days. Average temps on the cores never got above 55c under loads. System temps are good (38c). Video temps at the time of crashes: 56c. Since my initial post I've used driver sweeper to install latest Catalyst drivers and disabled hardware acceleration in flash. Not sure if it helped yet.

I ran the first thing you told me, which came back telling me it was Genuine. The second however (description of the update for windows activation technologies), tells me the update's already installed so... no sure if you wanted me to rerun it, if that's possible O_o

Ok, your windows install looks good from my point of view. An expert will look at it soon but for now, work through the below troubleshooting steps.

If you are overclocking your system, please return all overclocked components to their stock speeds. If the BSOD's are found not to be caused by the overclock, you can re-overclock the components once we have finished the diagnostics

Recommendations

Uninstall this software:

This is overclocking software and can lead to system instability and BSOD's. Please reset all components to their stock speeds and then remove the software.

Daemon Tools
Please uninstall DAEMON Tools. This software uses a driver called sptd.sys which is a known BSOD cause in Windows 7. Uninstall the software using Add/Remove Programs. Once the program is uninstalled, run sptd.sys uninstaller to remove the driver from your system.

As an alternative, many people recommend the use of Total Mounter or Magic ISO

Anti-Virus
I have noticed that you do not have an anti-virus product installed on your PC. Please install Microsoft Security Essentials and scan your PC. Then install and scan your computer with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. DO NOT START THE FREE TRIAL. This will remove any viruses you may have caught.

BSOD Analysis

The BSOD dumps you gave me do not give a definitive cause for your BSOD's.

As a result I recommend you check your hardware for issues. Please run Memtest86+ to check your RAM. Let it run for 6-8 passes overnight as described in the tutorial. Pay particular attention to parts 2 and 3.

Also check your HDD for errors using Seatools and chkdsk.. Download and create a bootable version of the Seatools for DOS program as described here. For check disk, follow this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

The COA_SLP Key in use here is one stolen from a Direct OEM (Large manufacturer) - it is not one that can be bought separately (they are OEM System Builder Keys).

The installation must therefore be classed as counterfeit.

If you purchased this Key in good faith, demand a refund from the supplier.

Afraid so -
The COA sticker in legitimate sales is on waxed paper so that it can be detached and affixed to the machine - where it must live its life.
Dell disks are applicable to Dell PCs ONLY - and cannot legally be used on any other machines.
Legitimate System Builder disks come in a sleeve, rather than a case, with the System Builder License terms visible from teh outside so that you can agree to them prior to opening the pack - they then contain a booklet, and the Key, and a Hologrammed OS disk with Microsoft all over it - not Dell :)

Legitimate Retail packs are fancy affairs.

Interestingly, I just remembered something....
Some time ago, a poster in another forum asked about the type of thing you appear to have - except he was actually working in the place that was making them, and was worried about the legality of it. As I recall, he ended the discussion sayng that he was going to quit because of his concerns, and was considering reporting them to the authorities.

Yea to be more precise: It's a cd sleeve that was sealed with a big DELL UPC sticker, and the DVD says "Reinstallation DVD" with the DELL logo etc. and the "For installation with a new PC" thing on it. The COA sticker is on the plastic the sleeve came in.

This is rather... well hmm. I'll get to some digging... it's been a while I somehow doubt they'll give me a refund. Before I say anything about counterfeit to them, I want to be sure that's what's going on here...

I have emailed the seller addressing this issue multiple times, and waited long enough without reply. I suppose I am left with no recourse. I'll google a way to report them to microsoft, unless you may have a specific link to do so. I've heard in some cases MS can give a discount or even a compensated copy for counterfeit cases... is this true? I can only imagine they must be pretty unique cases... to think I've been sheisted $100+

*sigh* All that disappointment aside, I have found the reason for the BSoD's:

I'm confident the drive is fine. I've run diags on it left and right, zero-d it out and tested again w/no errors. Regardless I swapped to a known good HDD with no change in the BSODs, so kept testing.

In the end, it turned out to be a memory module. I had ran a test before and nothing came up, I suppose it was a fluke 'cause I ran tests again yesterday (memtest86) and got lovely red colored errors non-stop. I narrowed it down to the problem child *shakes fist*, and once removed, I haven't had an issue. Lifetime warranty so I'm RMA-ing it now.
