If you're referring to 16bit backwards compatibility, all current 32 bit versions of Windows 7 have that ability

You don't "change" a 64-bit OS to a 16-bit one.
If you want a 16-bit only OS you'll need to go back to Windows 3.1. Even Win95/98/Me were hybrid 32/16-bit OSes.

The act of reverting to 16bit is what i referred to in my previous post as 16 bit compatibility!

Refer to my previous post for why this is impossible on your 64 bit operating system and some suggestions on how to get your 16 bit programs to work in Windows 7 x64 using emulators like DOSBox or XP mode.

If you are planning to play old games, then you will have to use DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS.

You cannot easily do this. With a 64bit OS, it has support obviously for 64bit, as well as 1 step backwards which is 32 bit. With a 32bit OS, it supports 32 bit and 1 step backwards which is 16 bit. 16bit native apps don't run on 64bit platforms.

As others suggested, an emulation software or virtual machine is really your only choice. Neither are great for games..but if they are old 16bit apps...these environments might just do the trick.
