Solved Please help me find location for authorization.xml

Please help a Windows 7 noobie AKA total dummy.

Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

I inadvertently moved this folder - authorization.xml size 2.37Kb dated 11/17/2011 and have no idea where to put it back if in fact it is necessary.

I've attached a screen capture hoping it might help in identifying it.

Would really appreciate your help.

I don't have authorization.xml on my Win 7 Pro X64 system that I can find.

I did find this with a Google search though: Windows 7 and VMware Server - Server Fault

Yep and it's in the screen capture.

No, that's an xml file in a subdirectory named "2" located on your root drive.

No, stupidly, I moved it to my C:\2 on my hard drive

I don't know where to put it where it was.

Open the xml file (use notepad), copy the contents, and paste them in your next reply. Also, right click on the xml file, select properties, look under all the tabs, and see if there is any information that may identify what created the file. Looking at the snapshot makes me think it's an xml file used during a previous Windows update.

I've got to explain, kegobeer, the info you gave me led me to the zipped file at the end of the line.

What I had done was unzip that file to my file C:\2 and it was renamed when I opened it.

The original file is still intact.

Believe me, I won't monkey with that stuff again.
