"restore folders at log on"

what i mean, "restore windows at log on" what i mean, is that since windows 98 there was an option... follow my steps in any of the windows instead of the new windows 7 build and you will see what exactly I mean.
note: auto hide sucks, i have to monitors and i dont mind other windows floating on top of the task bar, i would still like to disable the "always on top feature" of the start menu, and taskbar.

anyway,

step1) open explorer
step 2) if your menu is hidden , click organize> layout>then enable menu bar.
step 3) click on the menu bar, tools>folder options>view>
(if you scroll down you should see an option called, "restore folders at log on", witch would restore the folders you left open in your previous windows session.)

this option is taken out of windows 7 with every build after 7022.

well how can I hack it to restore the windows. I remember before they had this feature at all, there was a program called rapid resume, and it enabled you to do so.but that program doesn't exist for windows 7

Yeah I remember the option 7000 but it didnt even work... I really, really hope they reimplement it asap, having program for that feels..... erm... weird, as the feature has been there for god knows how long.

Build 7100 Release Candidate still lacks this feature. Strange and disappointing. Anyone find out if it was relocated or just removed?

I exported the PersistBrowsers registry hive from Vista (attached) and imported the hive onto build 7100, however this simply creates a checkbox in the shell it does not enable the functionality. I presume the function has been removed from the DLLs.

It seems they have implemented this feature in the RTM, I just tried it out and it works just fine

RTM=Release to Manufacturing
basically a final version that MS gives to PC manufacturers to install on new comps

if you want one, buy a new win 7 install disk or pc or..................you could check your favorite torrent sites

what version of windows7. please be more specif in your answers. I have Win 7 installed of course, but in what new version does this come.? can i install RTM without re-installing a frsh new copy of win7?

No, actually, you can not... When build 7600.16385 was RTM'd, it was pulled from the evaluation program ... emphasis on evaluation. Microsoft has not survived by giving away its software. The only version currently available for download is a 90 day evaluation copy of the Enterprise version of Windows 7...

your original post was that you have installed RTM and that gave you access to the
restore windows at login feature.

if you were interested in "educating the children" one with half a brain would simply say, "the newer version of windows has this feature." done simple and nice. but hey u feel that u are smarter then everyone else, well more specificity me then all the power to you my man. enjoy

Actually my involvement in this thread was to steer kirov away from possible problems with the administration... Thats when you chimed in with your totally inane statement.
