OK Jut watched a video on How to replace a laptop wireless card and although a bit fiddly looks stratight forward enough. We live and learn

Mind you still don't know if it was a laptop or desktop so feel a bit better!!!!!!

I'm going with laptop, since battery is listed in device manager.

But I favour a desktop otherwise how could he reseat the wireless card? I don't use a laptop but would it not be quite difficult to get to the card?

My wireless card is right next to my ram in my laptop, easy enough to get to.

I was mainly talking about the battery because my desktop does not show that in device manager, my laptop does.

I must admit I missed the "Batteries" entry altogether. As you say that points to a laptop!

Certainly points that way, but desktops connected to a UPS will have 'Battery' listed as well.

On the wireless card for laptops topic, I've seen some where you only have to pull a panel or two yet others where you've got to take the whole dang think apart to get to it!!
