New Built PC BSOD´s at seemingly random times (ntoskrnl.exe)

Hey everyone, this is my first time here so i hope i did this correct.:o

I built this computer about a week ago and ive gotten 3 BSOD´s at seemingly random times

BSOD 1 and 3 happend when the system was under some load, (1) playing League of legends and (3) Playing Minecraft.

The 2 one happend while the system was "IDLEing" i wasn't doing anything intensive, but i had Firefox, Chrome, Skype and probably some other program open in the background.

I noticed that ntoskrnl.exe was part of all the BSOD´s.

I haven't done any done any memory tests yet.
Ive done some tests on the SSD, chkdsk and a SFC scan no errors reported :)

Ive had some problem getting all the Asus chipset drivers installed and are instead using the ones from windows/windows update.

Hope this is enuff information for now.

EDIT - I ran Memtest86 for about 10hrs and it passed with no errors.

Hello Andreas,

Seems like the crashes might be caused by AsIO.sys i.e. ASUS Probe. You need to uninstall them from Programs and Features. Infact uninstall all the Asus Utilities except the drivers. Also other issue with VirtuWDDM.sys i.e. Virtu MVP so I would recommend to reinstall it.

Updated your SSD Firmware lot of occasion an out dated firmware could cause BSOD.

Hi jack and thank you for your answer

Now i have uninstalled the whole ASUS AI suite and only reinstalled the ones that i "need"/want from that package.
Ive uninstalled Virtu MVP and im not installing it again.

While i was uninstalling ASUS WIFI-GO my computer froze but it didnt go BSOD on me, so i did a restart and i could uninstall it.

I also changed my antivirus from comodo to security essentials (i noised that it was often recommended to try)

My SSD got the most resent firmware, so cant update that.

Thank you for your time, ill check back in a few days if i dont get more BSOD´s sooner than that,
unless you know some more things i need/should do?

//Andreas

Hi again
Almost 3days without a BSOD, but no, it happend again while i was playing League of Legends :(

I dont know what you need from me now so i did the things with SF Diagnostic tool again and im attaching it to this post.

Thinking about doing a Repair/reinstalling on League of legends, could League of legends be a part of the problem?

Any idéas?

//Andreas

Hi Andreas,

Seems like the each dump file is pointing to different things. Does the crash only happen with League of legends? If so it could the game itself. Yes so reinstall it may fix the problem. If not then it likely to be a Hardware specific problem.

Run Hardware Diagnostic (RAM and hard Drive) Hardware Diagnostic | Captain Debugger

Seems like Asus Utilities still there on your PC please remove them.

Hi

2 of the BSODs have happened when i was playing League of legends, 1 when League of legends launcher was in the bakground and 1 when League of legends wasnt running at all.
Ive reinstalled League of legends now.

I ran memtest86+ for 10hours a few days ago with no errors.

I ran a CHKDSK /R with no errors reported.

Now i have removed all the ASUS things (except drivers) (misunderstood you last time, sorry)

i havent OC´d anything, and my temps are nice and cool on the whole system.

thnx for you answer

Hello im back again, i went about 2weeks with out a BSOD but today it happend again :(

I was browsing the web with firefox and i had TeamSpeak3 up on the second monitor nothing intensive running, and just when i closed TeamSpeak3 my screen went black and the computer restarted, when i got back in to windows i got a message telling me that windows had shut down unexpectedly and the reason was BSOD :(

So i guess that there is still something wrong here.

Hello Andreas,

The latest dump is pointing to RTKVHD64.sys i.e. Realtek sound driver I would recommend to reinstall them.

Only if you really want to. If it's a software bug it will be resolved by reinstall of Windows but you need to run it vanilla (Nothing installed even drivers let it be default windows) for a week or so.
