how do i setup bluetooth connection to both pc to play lan,share files

my desktop pc is windows xp, no worry i got bluetooth dongle here
my laptop is windows 7, integrated bluetooth

how do i setup bluetooth connection to both of them which i can play lan games (1 vs 1)
or share files

pls answer

Is there a reason you want to try and use Bluetooth for this?

given the average range of bluetooth, and that it's weird, I think your'e far better off with a ethernet cable. Much easier to do it.

yeah there's a reason, i cant setup a lan using a switch they said i need a router to do it,
and i dont still have money to buy a router, dnt have job still a kidXD

You don't need a router to play "lan games" (peer to peer) A switch will work fine. In other words 1 PC would act as the host and the other pc/pc's would connect to you locally over the internal network. But you would have to connect all the pc's via an Ethernet cable for this to work via the switch.
You would only need a router if both computers wanted to play against each other online via the internet or if you wanted the laptop to connect wirelessly to the internal network

Who is they? What games are you trying to play? And what hardware do you currently have for networking?

Gigabit nics have auto-mdx, and maybe newer 10/100 nics may have it as well. This allows you to hook up 2 computers with a straight Ethernet cable and not require a crossover cable.
Just plug in the cable between the computers and you are networked.

@Zepher, they who im talking too is the most of the searches and forums i saw, if you want to play lan u need router....im trying to play counter strike 1.6, trackmania nations, and any lan games i have....the hardware i have is a switch, a ethernet cable idnt know if it is crossover or any and a desktop and laptop and im asking if the switch lan setup didnt work i have bluetooth if it can be connected to play lan

now help me pls

i tried the steps for creating a lan network using a switch here's what i did
i matched the group name of 2 pc's
i obtain a new ip like 0.1 and the other is 0.2 ip like that
but the windows 7 has a hazard on networking and didnt connect/find the other pc
is my steps right??? pls recorrect

if the cable is crossover it will have one end of one color and one end of another colour (mine are gray on one end and blue. Also, you have to connect both computers to the switch, and doing so with a single cable is a bit... impossible.

yeah and my single cable cant reach my other pc its too short...
and also my 2 pc are connected to the switch but my network status has a hazard/limited connection
