BSOD playing WoW, Diablo 3--ntfs.sys

Sometimes these bsod's occur while playing either of the above games, sometimes they occur after playing and the computer is just sitting idle. The computer went for like 10 or 12 days with no bsod's, (never played either of these games) and as soon as I played Diablo 3, it crashed after the game was closed and the computer was idle (second most recent mini dump file). The most recent dmp file was a crash while playing diablo 3. I have already chkdsk the HDD. No errors. On a previous bsod post that I marked as solved, my hosts file was HUGE, and I discovered two pieces of malware and purchased and now run Malwarebytes full time and there were a couple outdated drivers I updated. So the two most recent dmp files are different from all the others, as the older ones are a mixture of ntoskernl bsod's, page fault, etc... which I think were related to an outdated driver or two. Could somebody please take a look and let me know what they think? I have also ran memtest on both sticks (one at a time) separately, and no errors. Thanks in advance.

BSOD Analyse

I believe your problem lies in your Devices, you have quite a few Problem Devices. Let's have a look one by one.

1)

Possible fix| Go to Device Manager > Expand the USB list > Uninstall every driver (not device) and Reboot Windows.
Let Windows detect them and reinstall them.

• What kind of USB Devices to you have attached to your hub?

Acronis Virtual Disk Bus    ROOT\ACRONISDEVICES\0000    Failure using the VxD loader.

Virtual Disks' may be a BSOD causer. For a trial try to uninstall Acronis.

3)

Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_02451025&REV_02\010000000000000000    [COLOR=Red]This device is disabled.[/COLOR]

Any specific reason why this is disabled?

4)

Realtek High Definition Audio    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_10250245&REV_1000\4&6054F9B&0&0001    This device is disabled.

Same as above.

5)

Microsoft PS/2 Mouse    ACPI\PNP0F03\4&EABE7E6&0    This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.

These will come from either a gaming mouse, or a standard mouse. If you're able to install the driver for your mouse, it'll fix this issue. Look for updates in Windows Update, or go to the manufacturers website. 3rd possibility is a following installation disk.

6)

Thank you for responding. Let me take these in order. First, I had bsods prior to installing d3. Temps are normal.

1. I have tried uninstalling drivers for all greyed out usb devices before. Should I uninstall drivers only for all usb devices in my list? The one you are pointing out is my external 1.5 TB WD usb drive, I think. How do I just uninstall the driver? I looked at the device you are referring to in device manager, and it just gives me an option to uninstall the device? Update: I reinstalled driver for this and the yellow warning icon disappeared in device manager!

2. I though I had eliminated all traces of acronis true image home. It was the cause of many bsods a while back. Is what you are showing me from a recent file that I posted? Is this driver loading on startup? If so, please how can I locate and get rid of that file? I don't have a disk hub for usb. I assume that file is from acronis disk imaging software. The only usb items I use are bluetooth dongle for keyboard and mouse (logitech), wd external 1.5TB HD. Railink usb wireless lan, ipod, ipad cable for syning itunes to my apple devices.

3. I disabled because I am using wireless usb lan. Should I just re-enable wired lan controller and not worry about it?

4. I disabled because I am using nvidia hd audio now through hdmi. I actually uninstalled realtek probably right after posting to these forums.

5. I use logitech wireless usb dongle bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Should I just uninstall the ps2 mouse or hook one up and reboot, letting windows install the driver?

6. yes, I use ms security essentials and it is up to date. What is the meaning of the two files you are showing me under number 6 in your replu?

You basically want to select all those devices that has something to do with the USB & hubs. You cannot really uninstall the driver and expect the device to work properly. Well, you can uninstall the whole device, but that won't bring it up again unless you install it.
There's a good amount of difference between uninstalling the driver and uninstalling the driver for the device. If you only want to uninstall the driver as you should for the USB related ones, go to Device Manager, Right-click the Device, Properties, Driver-tab and Uninstall driver. Reboot Windows and let it detect the device, and reinstall them.

This will secure a clean install.​

Yes it's quite recent. Let's safely remove the driver.

Safely Remove Drivers:
To remove this safely, please do the following:
- ensure that you have a bootable DVD to use to get into Startup Repair (the Win8 installation DVD will do). If you don't have one, then use this procedure to create a System Repair disk: System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8
- set a System Restore point (to use with the System Repair disk if you can't get back into Windows).

- download this free program: Autoruns for Windows Use it to disable any entries that has anything to do with Acronis, (by removing the checkmark in the far left column)
- check for any services related to this driver and/or program (use services.msc) and disable them
- check in Device Manager (use devmgmt.msc) for any devices related to this driver and/or program. Make sure to enable the viewing of hidden devices. Uninstall any that you find. DO NOT rescan or reboot yet!
- search your system for the the driver driver and rename it to *drivername*.bad. For instance driver.sys was once the real driver, rename it to driver.BAD - you can check for any driver related to Acronis, on a Driver Reference Table such as Carrona.org

Then reboot and see if it's removed.​

Excellent idea yes. Otherwise find your driver dvd that came with it (if any), or even better - from the web. Just make sure that it's 7-ready.

I'm not sure. I think we can ignore them for now, but they definitely belong to MSSE. We'll diagnose these once you have the USB drivers sorted.​

Go a head and skip all the steps that doesn't involve the driver. If none of them does, rename the driver to .BAD instead of .SYS. But remember, backup backup backup!

Using driverview program I also find no acronis entries.

Strange. I may have looked at a wrong dump or something around those lines.
The file seems removed not so long ago as you said, the good news is that the roots of the driver seems away.

bsod in cdd.dll pfn fault

This is a new crash (all dumps are attached, the culprit is labelled 8/28). The computer was idle with google chrome running and maybe itunes (can't remember).

Combining your crash dumps and the general view of BSODs culprits, I'd suggest you to have a look at your memory, the sticks. Through decades people have been using the bootable tool called Memtest86+ and it's basically very unique in these manners.
:info: Be sure to check your warranty rules and regulations before opening your case.

* Memtest86+ is USB-ready, and can be booted directly from it. Download the flashdrive wizard.
* To ensure that either your sticks OR your motherboard slots are broken, it's necessary to do the below procedure-
* Pull out all sticks except ONE, scan it.
* If no errors, pull the scanned stick into another slot.
* Proceed like this until you've scanned all sticks individually, and all the slots.​

new memory ordered from crucial. I kind of thought that may have been the problem as they are two different sticks. Drivers are soooo funny though...... I sincerely appreciate all of your input and advice.
