BSOD on windows 7 64bit only!

i am opened to more suggestions from other members thx.. did a fresh install of windows 7 x64 yesterday for another try.. had as usual lots of BSODs and freezes.. managed to install latest windows updates... and all latest drivers except drivers for my GPU 4870.... when i start installation it just gets a BSOD... ... it's a bugcheck : 0x00000124

noticed that BSOD mostly occur when copying/installing/download something... related to HDD? did a memtest again yesterday .. no errors and did a memory test with windows 7 today and no errors .. can someone recommend a tool to test CPU and GPU thx

0x124 - Hardware related again.

You can go a head and stress test your CPU using Prime95, just be sure to monitor your temperatures cause it's quite hot already. You don't want to fry those chips!

Yes they are. Only hardware related in fact. The fact that you're not getting any BSODs in 32-bit, and gets 0x124 in 64-bit -- definitely related to the CPU is uncomfortable using 64-bit. It's clear.

May I ask where you had your 64-bit DVD from?

It turns out that your CPU can handle 71.4°C, which would explain the crashes IMO. No need to run the stress test-- it'll melt your CPU.

What's your temperatures in 32-bit?

Will try monitor temp in 32 bit...i am currently trying to remove each component of my pc and test. Any idea why my cpu is not comfortable with x64? It says that it supports 64bit

No idea. I'm sorry I wish I could have given you an answer, but whenever I think about it - I simply cannot get to a conclusion. I've never in a lifetime tried an issue like this.

Haha was about to ask you if you have ever seen a situation like this lol..thx anyway trying to help! I had disconnected all my other hdd, no diff.. trying using only 1 ram stick right now lol

sidenote: thank god i didn't buy another 4gb of ram! it would have been useless since i can't run x64 lol ...

at the time i bought components for my current pc, i bought the most high end components from the computer shop near my place... i had the "better" components as compared to my friends who bought only the budget low-end components ... look now lol.. they can run windows 7 64bit properly without crash and look at me lol... next time i gonna buy all the budget components...

Only thing i have not tested is the gpu. I need to find another gpu to test it..i hope it is the gpu! I really hope

ok did yet another windows 7 x64 fresh install.. (it's like my 12th install)... i have disabled almost all features i have seen in cpu in my bios lol... has installed it yesterday and have been able to install some drivers, adobe cs6 and tom clancy future soldier...BUT still got some BSODs but much less than before and not the same error.. i often get "kernal inpage error" BSOD now... any idea what's that? and i can't seem to find where my minidumps are now... it's like they are no more created...

another thing i noticed when i leave my pc unattended.. i think it goes to sleep but it can't be wake up lol.. when i push my power button, my pc just turns off

Well, minidumps aren't made on a new built of Windows.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Press Start, in the Search Box type: "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes), press Enter.
* Select the Advanced tab, click on Startup and Recovery Settings.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information headline select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box.
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK till you're out of the dialogue.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

About the second thing, if a user is having problems waking their computer up from sleep, they might have problems with the PSU. Are the voltages OK in BIOS?

just got a BSOD.... i think same error kernel data inpage error thing..see attached..hope you can help... i noticed that when i watch videos, i get the BSOD more often (got 2 when i was watching youtube and one when i was watching a movie) .. something related to my GPU?

Still CPU related. You should have installed 32-bit instead. Again, I do not know why your system crashes when you're running 64-bit -- that's all I can say.
The more you make your system crash, the more harm you do to the hardware. I'd just not make the situation worst by proceeding troubleshooting in 64-bit.

Contact Microsoft or Intel about this problem. Link to the thread if you desire.

It's not my best side to cancel threads like these, but it's just out of my knowledge.
