Anyone else notice Hotmail won't display Inbox properly?

It won't display properly in chrome or Firefox. Last night I could still get it to display using Opera. No more. I keep clicking Inbox link and nothing happens.

I'll check mine out...can you post a screen shot of it.

I'll have to play around and see if I change back to the old style view if it's usable. As it is, you get as far as this, then clicking Inbox either does nothing or presents a distorted view with no scrolling. It's not usable.

chrome, firefox, opera all useless for some bizarre reason.

hotmail.png

edit: I've found if I turn off Pane option then click a message, the message is displayed below the list. Guess that's the fancy new interface. But it's incredibly slow. I have to wait maybe 20 seconds for the click to "take". I hope they fix it soon.

Have had the same problem for days now. Only on I.E., chrome and firefox display properly. It's been driving my boss crazy, i got him to use chrome and now he likes it better than I.E. One less I.E. user now. On I.E. if i hit refresh enough times it will finally display right or if i log out of my account and back in sometimes in goes back to normal until the next time i open it.

One thing I did find. Right after the login screen, instead of clicking on Hotmail, there are a couple of links. One says "go to Inbox" and the other says "you have n unread messages." it could be coincidence. But it seems like the list of messages displays in spiffier fashion if I click those. But the main thing seems to be to disable the Pane feature.

Oh well, at least it's usable now. Too bad because I like that Pane option. :)

FF 15 has been acting like your 1st shot off and on.

Nothing steady, takes a bit to get it back.

Anyone have any idea what is going on with it ?

Same problem here. Seems like a Windows 7 compatibility issue for now. I have an XP computer at work and had no problem all day long.

I have tried IE as well and it has the same problem. Does hotmail even know of this problem? I submitted a report last night through downrightnow.com and this morning it seemed to be fixed, even on Windows 7, but it's back. I have to use a 3rd party software to read my messages.

No gear to click on with my hotmail and I don't see a "switch back" option anywhere.

I find Opera has more luck getting in. Once you can get to the Inbox then setting Pane options to Off might restore it to usable.

Or try any portable browser you can "throw away" once you get by the block. Maybe MaxThon or some other.

Hotmail for me is still a mess. Tried switching to Outlook and it is no better.

It was a fight to get it straightened out, so for now back to Hotmail I am.

This sucks !

Anyone have a clue as to what is going on ?

Now today my inbox is showing but it's a brand new problem. I can't do anything with the messages. I can't open them to read, I can't delete any of them, I can't compose a new message, etc. Nothing you click on does anything.

IE works when the inbox displays but it's still hit and miss whether the inbox comes up.

This is strange.

If you can get to any point where you have the Options link, try setting Pane to OFF. Of course it could be you didn't have it on in the first place. Might just be coincidence. But it seems like I've been able to use it since setting that off. I've had a Hotmail account for many years. Even before MS bought it. I've never seen it this bad where the Inbox won't even open after log in. If there was a problem in the past it was usually inability to log in.
