Hi:
I purchased a new ASUS 64-bit Laptop (with Win 7 Home-Premium).
Go to Control Panel>Power Options.
Choose High Performance power plan, set Display to desired timeout, then set Sleep to 0, Save.
Now choose plan again, go to Advanced Settings, under Sleep set Hibernate to 0, Save.
There is also a choice there on the left margin for having it Do Nothing when you close the lid. Make sure this doesn't overheat it.
Check wake settings on ethernet adapter Power Options.
Keep the screen awake so you can verify that the PC is not sleeping.
Wait for help from someone with IT Pro server experience.
It sounds like the second choice should do it, but if not try unchecking the first choice too.
You really should uncheck Allow the computer to turn off power to the Ethernet adapter. If you want the system on 24/7 the network adapter should be on 24/7.
