BSOD when restarting from "sleep-mode"

Title isnt 100% accurate, but thats the only thing that isnt random about my BSOD's. I shut the lid on my laptop at night, when I wake up and open it again, it will almost every time go into a BSOD instead of recovering from sleep mode. The BSOD's im getting are also pretty random, its not like one spesific BSOD pops up every time. The STOP codes seem to be different.

Anyway, its a 2 month old Asus Aspire 5750G with the following specs;

- Intel i7-2670QM 2.2GHz
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M
- 6GB DDR3 RAM
- Windows Home Premium 7 64bit

The BSOD's started occuring about a month ago. I loaded up an earlier configuration from Windows Recovery and I didnt suffer from any BSOD's for about a week, then it started again. Since then i've re-installed it to factory settings, but the issue is still here.

I took the SF Diagnositcs test and zipped it, following is what came up. I have no clue what any of it means, so if anyone's got a suggestion, explain it thoroughly please :p

Also, if theres any info i've left out thats relevant, please let me know. And if you want me to download newer drivers, PLEASE link me to the newest ones. Again, im useless at this :(

Welcome aboard.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Thanks for the reply!

Allright, I'll do this as soon as the driver im currently downloading is finished. Noticed I didn't have the newest driver for the VGA, so i'll just get that sorted first.

Also, what do you think about opening my computer and reseating the ram, VGA etc.? Could this do the trick?

Reseating of items may be needed, but right now it is not the appropriate time. First let us find the real cause out, then we will take the appropriate steps those are needed.

But, if you want, you may do it, right now. Those are never harmful, but good :)

I've now got the newest NVIDIA driver installed, and Driver Verifier is running. Can i shut the lid on the computer when I go to bed, or do I have to leave it running through the night? I've also got school in the morning, which means I'm going to need my computer...

Haha, Im from Norway, its now roughly 7am :P

I left it running through the night though, and so far so good. Im starting to think that the VGA driver was the issue, but not getting my hopes up yet. It tends to bluescreen when I put it to "sleep" mode, so we'll see.

I'll keep you posted, and again, thanks :)

Still no BSOD. And yeah, it is a bit slow and laggy. Really weird considering its only about 2 months old. Or is this due to the Driver Verifier running?

It is driver verifier that is causing it slow. :(

It is driver verifier that is causing it slow. :(

Still nothing :) How much longer should I keep it running? And if it doesn't BSOD in the 24hours, what does that mean? That updating the VGA driver was the solution?

Sorry for the late reply, sir! Things around me is not going very fine.

Yes, your nvidia driver is somehow old, it is of October 2011. So you should update it. And, you now disable driver verifier.

After disabling driver verifier, follow these steps to update nvidia driver:

If it still crashes, we are to think otherwise.

Saying again, sorry for the late.

EDIT: It is not crashing while verifier is enabled indicates that it is not any of the drivers that is causing the crashes, and the reason is hidden in somewhere else. Drivers are all able to take stress.

Oh, don't worry about it :)

And I think I mis-typed, I havent had any BSOD's since I started this thread!! :D What I did was install the NVIDIA Driver I found from Acer's website. So the drivers list included in my original post shows the old driver I had. Seems to have done the trick, doesn't it?

I have switched the driver verifier off as well. Had it running for as long as you said and nothing happened :)

Again, I appreciate your help so much!

Hi again! The computer has been running well for a few days, but yesterday it started BSOD'ing again. When I got home a few hours ago I couldn't even boot it up, due to BSOD's popping up everywhere, different ones as well. Managed to back everything up though.

Tried reseating the RAM-bricks, didnt work. However what did work was running it with only one of the RAM bricks inserted, the smaller one I think. (I've got 6MB Ram, so im only using the 2MB piece for it to work. Doesnt work if I only use the 4MB piece) The computer is very much slower now though :(

I've uploaded the latest info from the Diagnostic tool in this post, hope you can see anything useful :)

First, let it run in this condition for some time, observe if it crashes again or not.

If not, put the other RAM back.

Hi again :) So the computer has been running with only the one piece for over a day now, no BSOD's :) So I decided to put the other one in again earlier, but then it was back to normal, wouldn't boot up due to BSOD appearing. Have to use it with only the one piece it seems, but I've included the latest info from the diagnostic tool. Let me know if you see anything useful!

And does this mean that the piece is damaged, and that a new one will fix the issue?
