Hey all. I have problem, again.

While playing games my PC freezes, I get sound loop, PC restarts. However no blue screen occurs, it just restarts. Sometimes I can play forever and no bsod will occur, but sometimes bsod occurs after few minutes.

I've ran memtest86 for 16hours, no errors. Prime95, no errors. Cleared CMOS. Fresh windows install. Temperatures of CPU and GPU are normal.

My PC: Asrock P67 Fatal1ty
Intel i5 2500K
Corsair Vengeance 4x2GB
ATi HD 6850 Sapphire
SSD Samsung 830, 128gb
HDD WD Caviar Blue
Crosair TX650 v2

When I run Driver Verifier and select all drivers (expect Microsoft ones), pc crashes before boot logo loads (this time I get blue screen, but only says STOP: 0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80002E73736, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000), nothing more) and doesn't create minidump. When I deselect all drivers and select only random ones (tried with several of them) windows loads, but when I log on to my account, pc freezes before it completely loads (this time, no blue screen occurs and minidump is not created).

Since crash dump mentions ATI driver, I reinstalled graphics driver, but BSOD still occurs.

Thanks for reply!

I uninstalled Alcohol, Asrock Appcharger and CCC. I run Driver Verifier, crashed before boot logo loaded.

Then I removed display drivers from Safe Mode (AMD ones, I don't have nVIDIA card), installed new ones, but without CCC. Driver Verifier, crashes before boot logo loads again.

And no minidumps created.

Post the latest dumps? :)

Sadly it didn't create any while Driver Verifier was running. I get BSOD while boot logo loads.

What's interesting, I had the same problem on the previous installation of windows. This installation is fresh, downloaded latest drivers from Asrock site. Analyzing minidumps, every time it says it has something to do with atikmdag (the ones from old installation and the ones from new), but I tried installing 12.6, 12.7, 12.8 but didn't solve the problem.

Oh and I didn't play any games today, so I didn't have BSOD without Driver Verifier running yet.

New BSOD! I've been playing FSX and BSOD occured (it didn't display blue screen). First I got the sound loop and then black screen. I pressed restart button (since I disabled automatic restart), PC restarted but didn't boot, instead I got 5 long beeps and 1 short at the end (the one I hear when pc boots normally). Nothing happens, I turned it down by pressing power button and turned it back on, this time it boots normally. And this happens with every BSOD I get while playing games.

The Dump you have supplied is of Sun Sep 23 16:29:05.193 2012; that means it is a very recent one. Still, unfortunately it is blaming your ATI display driver out and out.

I may suggest you, try an older version of ATI driver, that worked good there.

At the same time, I want to point two more things out.

So, you should update it, too! Get it from Realtek.

And finally, You should perform a disc check.

  1. Reseat the sata and power.
  2. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
  3. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.
Do these, take your time , let us know how it all worked. Best of luck. :)

Here's what I did.
1. I installed 12.4 AMD driver (this is the last one I'm 100% it worked).
2. I installed new Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC driver.
3. I also installed new Relatek High Definition Audio driver.
4. I run chkdisk /f/r.

I run Driver Verifier, with all drivers selected except Microsoft ones and got BSOD before logo loaded (no minidumps created). Then I selected random drivers (not all) and got BSOD after the windows logo loads, but this time I got some minidumps!

Note: These minidumps were not created by BSOD caused by playing games. I'll check later to see if it occurs again while playing games.

Did that.

New info: I've run Driver Verifier and discovered which drivers cause problems (with elimination method). When I Verify Logitech's drivers (I have Logitech G920) wmbenum.sys and wmxlcore.sys BSOD occurs after logo loads. Also when I Verify Saitek drivers (saik0728.sys, saik0cc3.sys, saiku0cc3.sys) same thing. (I have Saitek Pro Flight Yoke) When I don't select these drivers in Driver Verifier I'm able to boot normaly.

note: when I Verified Saitek drivers, PC crashed after I logged in and this minidump was created.

I managed to screw up keyboard. :D Had to do system restore in order to get it working again.

Logitech drivers haven't been updated since 08/30/2010. Looks like it's same with saitek drivers (only RAT 5 is relatively new, 2011).
But I'm pretty sure that Logitech G940 is not the one causing problems, because I got it few weeks ago and I had had problems with BSOD way before then.

We'll see tomorrow if BSOD still occurs while playing games.

And one more thing. Do you know why I don't get blue screen? PC restarts but won't boot (instead I get 6 beeps) and I have to turn it off by pressing power button and then I will be able to boot normally. (This only happens when BSOD occurs during playing games, with Driver Verifier I get blue screen and I'm able to boot normally)

Your motherboard manual should have a list of what the beep codes mean. They are however often not much help because they give very cryptic reasons.
Well, maybe not, I looked through the manual and only find Dr. Debug codes which are useless. Here is ASRock's support number: 1-909-590-8308
