Solved Bsod loading into windows/blackscreen @"windows starting"

My computer has been acting weird lately. I can not get it to go past "windows is starting" screen. When it reaches this screen 1/3 the time it will just freeze on it and I will have to reset my computer and 2/3 of the time my monitor loses signal and will have to reset again. My monitor losing signal from the computer is the main problem I believe. I can log into safe mode fine no matter what settings I am using. Also I can log into windows normally if I have my graphics card driver uninstalled. As soon as I install the gtx 570 driver this problem occurs again. I have tried installing previous versions of the driver and that did not fix the problem.

I attached a minidump. Please advise, thanks.

Went through the info. Most of the stuff in there I have tried. It is not an overheating problem, the system is watercooled and is getting more then sufficient cooling. No dust ect on the chips or power supply. All overclock settings were removed and restored to default. Tried various versions of the driver. Besides a re-installing the OS, which I do not think will solve the problem, any other suggestions on what would be causing this?

Could it possibly be a RAM problem? Did not think it would be since the sticks are fairly new.

Thanks for your previous response=)

Update: Ran memtest on the ram and no errors have occurred, so looking like the mem is not the problem :/

(It now will sometimes gets past "Starting windows" but freezes immediately after with a black screen and only being able to see my cursor. Can not move cursor. This is with the latest nvidia gpu driver installed.)

My old gtx 570 pooped out on my a few weeks ago and just received this card from the RMA.(Another gtx 570) The card is def clean as I just installed the waterblock a few days ago. Worked fine for about a day with the graphics drivers and then on a windows update reset started to get the problems where I could not get past "starting windows". It sometimes made it to the log in screen but as I began to type password it froze. Did a system restore to earlier point but no help as well as a last known good configuration.

What type SSD do you have? OCZ makes the Vertex, Corsair makes the Force 3 and the Hydro. Probably several others. Do you have it plugged into the first Intel port, port 0? Have you updated the firmware for the board and the SSD? Is you bios in AHCI mode? If not, don't change it. We will give you instructions how to do it, otherwise the computer won't start. Do you have problems with the graphics when in bios? Does it hang there? Sorry for so many questions, but they will help us figure out the problem.

I meant ocz, kinda derped there for a sec :PI am pretty sure The board and ssd drive have the firmware they shipped with. The sata configuration is "enhanced" and sata is set as [ide]. Not sure if the ssd is plugged into intel port 0? How do I check that. Also I can navigate and use bios fine with or without the nvidia graphics driver installed. Only difference is with the nvidia driver installed computer wont go past "starting windows" and without the driver I can use the computer normally.

Edit: If intel port 0 you mean the sata port. The OCZ is in Sata 2 and the WD 1 TB is in Sata 1

That board has been out for a while. It could be a good idea to update the bios. Also check the OCZ site and see if there is any updated firmware for the drive. The Vertex was problematic when released ( I have one). The firmware updates were to correct the problems. I asked some of those questions because if you can go to bios with no problems, it is either the hard drive, the drivers, or GPU itself. The Nvidia drivers do not load until Windows loads, which is causing you the problems. When you go into bios, the drivers have not loaded yet. Also, your bios needs to be in AHCI mode for your SSD to operate at it's full potential. Here is how to do it. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/61869-ahci-enable-windows-7-vista.html.
When you uninstalled the old video drivers, did you uninstall the old ones first with Driver Sweeper in safe mode? Boot into safe mode, open driver sweeper and check Nvidia display drivers only, analyze, then clean. Then boot back into windows and install the drivers you have already downloaded from the Nvidia web site (current is 306.23 I believe).

Read your owners manual it will tell you which port on your board is the first port. Some boards have it written on the right by the sata connections.

Changed to AHCI mode, reinstalled the driver after cleaning it. Still receiving the same problem. The monitor loses signal from the computer and have to restart the computer.

So, I the only file is the original BSOD dmp one. I am actually not BSOD'ing anymore. A clean install of the drivers seemed to fix the BSOD, but what is happening is the screen loses signal after "windows is starting." I can hear the starting sounds and can even type my password to log in. I hear the logging in sound, but still nothing is displayed on the screen. Just black and the monitor loses signal.

Maybe this is a step forward or maybe this is an indication the card is just bad? I hope that is not the case.

Thanks for all the help so far =)

How about trying a DVI cable. See if that makes a difference. It will carry the same graphics, just not the audio.

I am using a DVI Cable:/ Tried the hmdi cable and no luck either:/ On a few restarts it hangs still on "starting windows" but most of the time the monitor loses signal and I hear the login sounds.

Also when it just freezes on "windows is starting" there hasn't been any more minidumps created. Just the first one I uploaded so I am not exactly sure what that means.

OK. Do you have another Graphics card you could try in that computer or a friend that would loan you one?
Do you have another computer you could try that grapics card in or a friend who would let you try it in their computer?
You can try the graphics card in another pcie slot in your computer to rule out a bad pcie slot.
I'm thinking either the motherboard, the card itself or the PSU. Due to the fact that I own/have owned an AX and HX 850, 2 HX 750's and an HX650 all Corsair's and have never had a problem, that would be last on my list. But, they do go bad, it does happen.
I am sure you have closely checked the wiring and made sure it is completely seated. 1/16 of an inch can make a big difference (learned from experience). Let's see if we can rule out the motherboard or the card. If you can put that card in another computer and it does the same thing, you would have your answer. If it runs fine and another card runs well in your computer, that would be an answer. If you can, I would try both, just to be certain.

Tried a friends graphics card. Updated drivers ect, booted up computer and there was no problems. Everything was running like it should be. :/ leads me to believe it is the card. I havnt tried my card in another computer as it is watercooled and would be an ordeal re-installing the normal heatsink and having to drain my system:/ Going to save that as a last resort.

I did re-seat my graphics card and no luck there. Also sent an email to EVGA support firmly voicing my opinion about the RMA card they sent me being a dud...so waiting to hear from them as well.

Any last attempt efforts you suggest to try and get this card working? Before I have to go through the RMA process again:/

Actually, I believe you found your problem. It would be pretty much conclusive if you could try your card in another machine. But, I understand the problems involved and don't blame you one bit. See what Asus says and try to RMA the card again.Let us know how it goes and how the new card works. I would be intrested to know what Asus say.
