Hello everyone, I am looking for general information about how my new Windows 7 equipped PC will act/appear when working in administrator mode. I was wondering why when i logged onto my PC as administrator that:

1) My desktop changed appearance and now looks like it did the first time i started up my PC.
2) When i opened my browser (i installed Firefox and made it the defalt) that it looked the way it did when i had first downloaded it.

Will i have to set the whole PC up in administrator mode too? So that it will be identical to when I am logged on? I want to make some changes to an .inf file that need to be made as administrator and thought that the PC would look and act identical running it as administrator. Thanks for any input

What do you mean by "Administrator Mode"?

Did you enable the Built in Administrator account and you then Logged into that account?

Correct, that is what i did.

Ok but WHY did you do that? The original account you made is an ADMINISTRATOR account.

Just Reboot the system and Log back into your NAMED account

They're two different accounts. With different settings. I personally would disable the admin account and give your previous user admin privileges.
If it doesn't already have it.

I wanted to go into the Administrator mode to i can make some changes to an .inf file and save the changes. It won't allow me to save them when i log on as myself. I just do not know why my PC looks like it did when i first bought it. I thought it should be the same appearance. Its seems like Like there is something wrong. That's the primary reason for this post. To find out why. Thanks

There is no need to enable the built in Administrator account. Everything can be done from a normal NAMED Admin account you just have to elevate your session to full admin rights.

Just log out of that account and log back into your Named account.

Why don't you Take Ownership of that file on your user account?
