I have recently purchased a laptop (an asus k55v). Everything was fine, I could use wifi, but ever since I attached a network cable to my laptop I have not been able to use my wifi. My computer cannot detect wifi. I tried turning it on and off, restarting my pc, system restoring it to a week ago. Please help:cry:.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Have you tried connecting to Public Wi-Fi's(including unsecured networks) and not just from your own Wi-Fi to see if you're able to replicate the issue?

Can you please run the Network Troubleshooter tool from your computer?

Thanks for helping, I can't connect to any wifi network. It simply doesn't detect them at all.

When I run it, it tries to connect to microsoft.com, but fails.

Apologize for the late reply...:o

Can you see if your laptop has an On/Off wireless switch or button or the F key with the wireless antenna symbol, then press it?

Ok, so I tried that, but it didn't work. So I tried running the troubleshooter again, and apparently this time it found the problem :D. The problem was the wifi adapter was off. I'm not sure why the wifi button didn't work, also It's wierd how my wifi turns off whenever I use a cable connection. Anyway, thanks for your help in fixing this problem.
