Boot time 5-6 minutes & after booting applications freezes for 1 min

Try the latest Nvidia driver to see what screen resolutions are available after disabling the Intel adapter.

If that doesn't help the try the same with the Intel.

Have you checked the logs and system resources to see if there are any other clues to the boot delay: Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

If not you can trace the cause with certainty by Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace - Windows 7 Forums

I have the latest NVIDIA and Intel driver and the resolution of NVIDIA is less than Intel driver.

I will check other solutions provided by you and will let you know if problem persists.

Thanks

Were you saying that when you disabled Intel adapter the boot time corrected?

Can you boot into BIOS setup to post back a camera snap of the display adapter listings and their settings choices?

Were you saying that when you disabled Intel adapter the boot time corrected?

He didn't say, just that his resolution had defaulted to low resolution, due to either drivers not being installed, or he just needed to change the resolution.

I am curious too if disabling the Intel fixed his issue too.

Is this a card vs. a chip on the mobo? Either way it shouldn't have both of them showing up. One should be enabled in BIOS setup is the normal method.

Perhaps the settings should be investigated in BIOS setup. It would help to see some pictures of the display adapter listings and settings offered.

Boot time is same 5-6 mins when I disable Intel driver.
I will try to take post snap of Bios setup

I notice you also have UEFI disabled which means you should have Win7 installed to an MBR disk with EFI boot disk taken out of the BIOS boot order.

So please go back to the third page you provided in BIOS setup to expand Boot Device Priority to check and report back the boot order.

Then in Disk Mgmt check which option is available when you rightclick on the panel directly to the left of your HD: "Convert to MBR" or "Convert to GPT?" Do not select anything, just report back which is available:

I would also consider doing a trace which almost always will determine with certainty which is causing these boot delays: Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace - Windows 7 Forums

I have updated drivers & have updated BIOS.

Boot order in BIOS
SATA CD: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN-208BB
SATA HDD: SAMSUNG HN-M500MBB
USB CD
USB FDD
USB HDD
NETWORK

Also in Disk Mgt, for my HD there is no option for MBR or GPT , you can check in the snap http://oi46.tinypic.com/detf90.jpg

That means it is an MBR disk which is what I was looking for. I don't think UEFI is at issue here.

When you feel you've exhausted all of the steps given then I would proceed with the trace to get a definitive cause. Upload the results file to a server like Skydrive (free with each WIndows Live ID) and link it in the tutorial comments section to get expert analysis from the top expert in the field and author of the trace. Carl is cleaning up from the storm in NY so may take a few days to get back to you.

Ok I will do a trace and check..thanks

Jaguar85: please provide a Speccy report -> use PUBLISH from the file menu and post the link you're given

Please also provide a snapshot of an expanded Display Adapters in Device Manager

For both the Nvidia and the Intel - uninstall, remove all software if prompted

reboot, do NOT install any drivers
Yes, your screen will be the default 800x600
work in that mode until a solution is reached - sorry, I know.....

I want to see what inf files are around before you run any updates.
There is only one graphics adapter on your machine, but it thinks there are two.

edit: according to essenbe, some Samsung models do have two controllers. hmm, imagine that.

I'll look at the Speccy report once you post the link

and it would help a lot if your system specs were filled in - use the easy system spec link in my sig so you don't have to type all of the information. Please make sure the make and model are correct - thanks

I realize the focus of the thread has gone in a specific direction, but I've just come upon it (via the 'More Help' thread) and I'm a little curious about the first few posts. So...

Please give me solution for my problem as my laptop take 5-6 minutes for booting & later application freezes for 1 minute.

Windows 7 Home Premium - service pack 1 (7 month old laptop)

Out of the 7 months you've had it, how long have you had this issue?

Had samsung recovery solution & samsung software update programs which used to come up after startup. surprisingly there was no option for this 2 programs in msconfig, startup section and used to come up after every startup. So I uninstalled it later.

These are often set up to run after boot via Scheduled Tasks. Often considered bloatware anyway.

all junk files & temp file cleared using Ccleaner & Glary utilities, also disk is fragmented using Diskeeper 2011
NO virus, malware, spyware present as I have checked my PC with Norton 360, webroot secure anywhere & SpyBot search & destroy
After checking for virus I have un-installed all antivirus, right now I don't have any anti-virus so there is no point that antivirus is increasing boot time.

That's quite a collection, some of which I wouldn't use with w7. After uninstall, did you also run the removal tool that's often provided by the makers (ie, Norton Removal Tool). Make sure SpyBot's TeaTimer was also removed. SpyBot also adds a slew of entries into the HOSTS file; you might consider removing them as I've heard this has an impact (not really sure how much though as it's been years since I've used it, and when removing from other machines there's typically a lot more stuff that's getting removed along with it -- you can always make a copy of it first in case you want to restore, it works the same whether SpyBot is installed or not).

I'll take your assumption that you're malware free, but just because you had the above programs does not guarantee it.

If this problems is fairly recent, you may be able to roll back your computer to a date/time prior to the first startup issue by using a system restore point.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html

See if there are any damaged or corrupt system files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

Another possibility is application conflicts at startup. Perform a clean boot (aka clean startup.)

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ation-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html

If none of the above helps you may want to go through these troubleshooting guides for startup issues and general troubleshooting issues. They are time consuming but have helped isolate problems for many people.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219533-troubleshooting-windows-7-failure-boot.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/220165-troubleshooting-steps-windows-7-a.html

I'm aware you've done some of the above. Did you consider the system restore or do the sfc /scannow?

I would immediately test your RAM and HD, establish a Clean Boot, scan the logs for repeat errors, and utilize System Resources to find problems in Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

Everything depends on RAM. It's a worthwhile test.

Is there a Samsung program onboard that allows you to change between the two graphics controllers? Check all of them in All Programs.

This reminds me that with the sketchy tools and methods you reported using, I would strongly consider making your Recovery Disks in order to wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. This is always a vastly superior install to the corrupting factory preinstall with it's larded on Bloatware and useless duplicate utiltiies. We specialize in helping with these here so will have your back every step of the way.

Greg: I don't think there are two controllers. essenbe has a desktop or a tower.

The Speccy report will tell - the Samsung site / manual is no help. They list all the mfrs & models they put in any machine. Without detailed information, I'm just whistlin'

After F5ing and your posts, my trying to determine what the machine has in it,
I think the best thing for jaguar85 is to go clean.

Bill

Hey F5ing, the problem is from last 40-50 days.
And regarding antivirus, I have installed it later to check whether I had virus or any malware.
I have done sfc/scan and it couldn't find any corrupt file.
I haven't done Restore as my Restore point is quite old.
