6 BSODs in 2 days after repair install

Hello people who read this,

Just after I did a repair install because of another problem, my computer started to crash very regular (6 times in 2 days so far!). They were:

1x NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM 0x00000024
2x MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001a
3x IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0000000a

These happened randomly without anything that can explain it.
SF_Diagnostic_Tool output is attached to the post.
Tell me if I have to edit/add something.

Hello brentmaas.

Which network connection do you use, Realtek or Atheros? If you use Realtek one anyhow, update the driver, from Realtek.

As a safety reason, scan the system for possible virus infection.

• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller
• Windows Defender Offline

Then Uninstall AVG. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Do some disc checks, too.

1. Update your SSD's Firmware (Skip it, if it not a SSD)
2. Re-seat the sata and power.
3. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
4. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
   Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.

I think my computer is using the Atheros device for it's network. I tried to update through Device Manager, but that didn't gave me any updates.

I don't know what harddisk I have, but msinfo32 said ST9500420AS ATA Device.
What is re-seating and SATA? I don't know what that means .
Chkdsk /f/r will run on my next startup.
And what is the minimum disk space SeaTools will need for itself? I only have 700MB-disks.

And the last thing I want to know is: what is wrong with AVG? If it's just a install failure, I can reinstall it. There was already a Windows Defender installed on my computer so I am going to try a scan from that program too.

Atheros one is up to date. In this case you may uninstall the realtek driver.

Your HDD is seagate.

Re-seat means ....

Unplug these two, and plug them back properly.

A 700 MB disc is enough for SeaTools.

What's wrong with AVG is difficult to explain. It is not only a good antivirus program that can give you a good real time protection, but also it makes the system crash prone, off and on.

The windows defender you have installed is a spyware protection tool. What I have suggested you is a virus scanner. You cannot perform the job of Windows Defender Offline with the installed Windows Defender.

Okay. I have uninstalled AVG and installed MSE now.
Going to look for the two things on the disks this weekend, because I still have to do some work.

I have found a lot of disk errors in EventLog saying: The driver has found a controllererror in \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
Is this a hardware failure and is it related to the crashes?

I have looked a little bit around and I have found a HotFix for IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0xa. This HotFix is useful for the situation: a program asks for a giant amount of memory. I was thinking that this one might be a good fix for my computer, because this crash is commonly happening when I am pushing Java Virtual Machine to it's limits.
In the post of the HotFix was written that installing the wrong HotFix can damage your computer, so I wanted to be sure about it : Is this a good HotFix or do I have to delete it and go on with the fixes that were reccommended to me earlier in this topic?

Not only the eventlog, but also the crashdump indicating to hard disc. So I suggested the disc checks. BTW, do you use any external hdd?

You may use that hotfix, but a stop A may occur for various reasons. So it may take place again.

Yes, I have one for my backups.
I'll try chkdsk for the external disk too.

Also, you should test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight, per RAM module per slot.

I have finished Windows Defender Offline. but it didn't find anything.

I have found one of the causes of my BSODs, a modification of a program had an option that needed something turned off in the graphics control panel. I am not able to disable those in my graphic control panel, so I will leave the program's options off.

...When using "..." make sure to Disable "Threaded Optimization" / "OpenGL Threading" in the graphics card control panel...
