Hi All,
Im planning to replace my old pc. These are my choices,
1. MSI 970A-G46 Motherboard
2. AMD 3.6 GHz AM3+ FX4100 Processor
3. Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
4. some 500 watts psu
5. existing seagate 500 gb harddisk

So I have my previous Ati hd 5670 1gb card, now should i buy a new ati 7770 1gb, 6850 1gb, 6870 1gb or get another 5670 1gb and make a crossfire setup?

I Cant afford an 6870 but can try if thats the best. I'm in india so it costs around 13000.RS
Any suggestions on graphic card or my other new components are welcomed. Thanks in advance :D And more important thing is I have a 19' monitor of 1368x768 resolution. I play mostly hardcore Games like BF3 and crysis 2.

Any of the cards you listed will be faster than two 5670's in Crossfire, with the 6870 being the fastest and the 7770 the slowest (but not by much behind the 6850).

The listed components look good, but there is one troubling bit,

4. some 500 watts psu

As long as it is a good quality 500W it should be OK. If it is some no name, then I wouldn't trust it at all.

I cant spend on a quality psu it costs 4 or 5 times a normal psu. :o Atleast where I live. And it has a name :) Enter SMPS 500 Watt SMPS, 24 Pin for PC, Computer Power Supply, 1 Year Warranty | eBay

That is horrible, and I would be surprise if it delivers at least half of what it is advertising.
Do yourself, and your wallet a favor. Buy a trustworthy PSU, and avoid having to lose all of your system and having to pay double to replace fried components.

I don't understand why people take power supplies so lightly just because they seem useless and ''not uber haxors''

That PSU is Awful sorry to say that would hurt you instead of help you

proper Psu would be like this Cooler Master GX550W Power Supply RS550-ACAAE3-UK GX Bronze 550W SMPS 5 YEAR | eBay

even though you said it wasn't in budget i would go with this save then get a better gpu later atleast you will be ready for the next step instead of rushed

also if you have ram already don't need to buy new ram you have the standard 1333 so you will be fine that will free up some cash for the PSU too use all the old stuff you can have to be thrifty on the respect of certain parts you already have that are still good enough for the other rig

such as the 5670 /ram/hd

The price of that psu you've mentioned is the same for a ati 5670 1gb. Is that really necessary? Can't i live with a psu of half the price maybe...

check this out you don't need to buy a second card atm if you are looking for future plans

don't buy new ram fist of all use the sticks you have save money right there free up some more cash for the psu

then down the road save for a better gpu 6870 and you will be in a good spot

You can sell all your stuff to get fancy parts.
A not so fancy psu will potentially harm your hard earned fancy parts.

Think smart. Buy a better psu you won't need to replace in the long run.

There is no such thing as a PSU that have one CPU brand compatibility only. Nothing you need to power an intel will keep you from powering an amd cpu and vice versa.

The coolermasters are fine for your needs, but don't expect to much from non 80+ supplies.

There is no such thing as a PSU that have one CPU brand compatibility only. Nothing you need to power an intel will keep you from powering an amd cpu and vice versa.

The coolermasters are fine for your needs, but don't expect to much from non 80+ supplies.

So the gigabyte 80+ is better than coolermaster non 80+ ? Is it so?
But the cooler master states >85% effficiency at Typical load.

Hey bala2289, I am also in India and use 6870. I will suggest you to go for it. Do not order it online, get it from the store. I agree with all the users that you need to have a good PSU. I am using coolermaster 750W. But, you can go for 650 or 600W as well.
