Ok, so i bought an Alienware ALX-58 from E-Bay and it is coming with a Intel Core i7 920 Overclocked to 3.86 GHz. I heard that it is possible to overclock it to 4.5 GHz. How do i do it? Like a Step-By-Step tutorial

And i have also heard that Crysis only recognises 1 GB from the Radeon 4870x2 ATI card. What do i have to do for Crysis to recognize the 2GB?
And is there any Overclocking for the ATI 4870x2 too?

Can i make Crossfire with a 4870x2? If i do, How many cards (4870x2) is it possible to do Crossfire with? (Intel x58).
Can i Crossfire like 4870x2 in one side and a standard 4870 in one?
Is it possible to overclock RAM from 1600 to 2000?

Is it Melt-Safe to overclock? I mean, is there the possibility to MELT or there is a High Temp failsafe?

What are the differences between Core i7 and Core Quad?
Because when i saw on my friends computer, there were actually 8 cores being recognized on Device Manager and everywhere. Many people say that it is still a Quad - Core.

What is the Melting Point of a CPU and a Video Card?

Which one is better? 4870x2 vs GTX 295
Is it cost/efficient to pay 250 $ more for a GTX 295?
_____

To my friends question :
Is it possible to make SLI with 8800GT , 8800GT , 8800GT ULTRA in a Tri-Way Sli?
It doesn't change right? I can still make SLI if the model is 8800, it doesn't matter if it is GS , or 8800GTX?

And he also bought a Core i7 920 Model. How do i overclock it to 4.5 GHz or 4 GHZ?

Is it possible to overclock the 8800 GT to a really good patience-cost/efficiency level?

Can a 8800GT in SLI Run Crysis on Very High Settings, With no AA on 1024x768 smoothly? Because on my friends house it doesn't and i thought that was really weird.

Edit: Could someone also help me in Choosing a Nice Monitor?
About 23-24 Inches, with Full HD (1920x1080 Resolution), and a Nice beautiful design.
Around 150-250. I have really bad luck when choosing monitors, so thats why i am asking you guys.

seriously mate, this is a forum for Windows 7. How does anything in your post relate specifically?

To make up for my mistake i myself answered some questions:

Crysis only Recognizes 1GB: Myth
4870x2 overclocking: Yes, but not much since the card runs hot.
4870x2 crossfire: Yes you can, until how many PCI Slots-free you have i think.
4870 and 4870x2 crossfire: No, you can't.
RAM OC: Yes, you can, but watch out for Temps.
Failsafe OC: Don't Know.
Differences between Core i7 to Quad: Difference between Quad/i7
GTX295 vs 4870x2: GTX 295 Wins not by much.
Is it cost Efficient: Depends on your budget.
You can't SLI with different Models like GTX GT GS.

Number 1 rule: every chip is different. Some overclock great, others not at all. Also, your options depend completely on your motherboard. In general, you raise Front Side Bus speeds, you raise multipliers and you increase voltage. Then you add cooling and test for stability. There is no step-by-step guide I'm afraid...you have a lot of reading to do.

I recently built a new machine with a Q9550 cpu and a gigabyte mobo. I'd estimate I spent a solid 15-20 hours reading online on how to overclock with my equipment and get the best results. My goal was to stay on stock cooling. I took it from 2.83ghz to 3.2ghz and it's completely stable and quite cool. But the key point is that it took a lot of reading and learning.

What are the differences between Core i7 and Core Quad?
Because when i saw on my friends computer, there were actually 8 cores being recognized on Device Manager and everywhere. Many people say that it is still a Quad - Core.
The core i7 is newer and faster. I'd check Intel site for exact details.

With regards to number of cores...the core i7 is still a quad core. It just has hyperthreading again...so Windows see's it as 8 cores....but it's really 4.

What is the Melting Point of a CPU and a Video Card?
Everyone is different.

And he also bought a Core i7 920 Model. How do i overclock it to 4.5 GHz or 4 GHZ?
That's a huge overclock there...almost 2x. Again, no tried and true guide...every CPU and motherboard is different. You will be tinkering with a ton and most likely having to resort to watercooling to pull off that large of an overclock.

Thanks for answering those questions, and yes i will have a water-cooled PC so i think i will be able to overclok it to like 4.5 GHz.
So basically, for the Core i7, Windows recognizes wrong numbers of cores right?

Thanks again,
Alex.

No, Windows recognizes that the chip is hyperthreaded.

Back when we had single core chips, when Intel released hyperthreading it appeared that you actually had 2 CPU's.

Today, with quad core chips, we have 4 cpu's. However, when each core has hyperthreading turned on, it appears that we have 8 cores.

You should see 8 CPU's under Windows (or Linux) with a core i7. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a quad core chip. Everything is displaying just as it should.

Hopefully that makes sense.
