Uplay AC3 download caused malware that Malwarebytes can't fix

Hi guys

my case is very similar to the one bellow except Malwarebytes didnt find the error

the start bar and windows are still in classic and boot time is very very slow ,

I have tried system restores b4 problem but that hasnt effected anything ( the first time i did this it worked but when i tried to re download AC3 the problem came back - in the first situation Malware bytes did find something which i deleted -

any help would be great - I have recently build the pc and have finaly got everthing set up right

First off where did you download the Uplay AC3 from and what method did you use to download it?

hi , thanks heaps,

it was via uplay (its the antethisis of steam - i only got the game with a gpu )

Can you do a system restore to a point behind the upload date?

yeah thats the weird thing

I have restored the os to before the download and install!

I just try another restore , to an even earlier point ( but then i have to re install printer drivers )

Im heaps sorry , this time I chose a system restore point rather than just a system change before the install.


In the future Will I be able to restore without any chance of anything coming back (what im asking is will this restore point allways be safe and clean and in the condition it is now?)

No problem. When your system is running clean create a restore point and that will do the job. What you might lso consider is creating a system backup with either the Winows built in system or preferably in my view, Macrium reflect. It is free and you can download from here. You need ideally a separate hard drive either internal or external. This is a real boon when you have a major problem, you can be back up and running in 15 mins with no worries. Well worth doing (IMHO)

Incidently what Anti Virus program do you have installed and is it up to date? When you download a file do you save it to a folder on your hard drive? If so what do you do next , go straight to "Open" or "Run" in the case of software?

I just restarted and the problems back !!!!

I dont know how it came back I un installed uplay and didnt try and download AC3 again ?


any help would be great

Please answer this in full as it may be important. Also I see you are running AVG. Get rid of that and install MS Security Essentials

Totally agree, AVG is garbage. Make sure you scan everything you download b4 you open it, as suggested.
