BSOD due to installing Alcohol 120%

I am using Win7 Basic and Compaq presario C60 laptop, when I installed Alcohol 120% latest, after completing installation a request for restart appeared after that startup is not loading and BSOD appearing. Other problem is that I was trying to remove that software by SafeMode but problem is that I tried thousands times F8 button DEL button but Windows Recovery Manager appearing, SafeMode window is not showing up. Thats it. Please Help me to get rid of it.

Hi,

Alchohol 120 is know to be a cause of BSOD's - uninstall it, and lets see if your system still gives trouble.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall the Alcohol 120% first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

• Double click to open it.
• Click this button only:
• 
• If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

Thanks for the response experts. But I said earlier in my thread that the is no way to uninstall Alcohol 120% because Windows 7 is not starting up because of BSOD appears after startup and then its restarts. F8 button not working for safemode opening. So no way uninstall kindly help about it. please

Use the windows installer DVD or a system repair disc. Boot into recovery console, and so a system restore earlier than you installed Alcohol.

In your first post it sounds like you said Safe Mode was showing up, Now you say you can't get into it. Did you ever make any Recovery CD/DVD to prepare for a situation like this? Do you have access to a Home Basic Install DVD ?

*not showing up. sorry for mistake. No because of some false Recovery CD/DVD was not made but recovery manager is in the system. If there is any way if safemode is not showing up by F8.

You need a bootable media to do it. If you dont have any recovery disc made, you can have it done from another computer using the same windows version, in home or with friends.

If that is not possible, download the bootable win7 ISO for your installed windows 7 version, burn it in a blank DVD or in a USB flash stick, and try again.

Ok I got your point. Now I am at the step of System Restore. Its showing the last description of program installed which alocohol. Further step is restore the system. If do it what will happen?

Looks like we are going to have to take the long way of fixing this one. Do you have access to another computer that can download from the internet & has a DVD R/W drive & a blank DVD ?

Now you need to make an All-in-One 32 bit Installer DVD that will have your Win7 Basic on it.

To make it, the .iso file needs to be in a file folder by itself.
Then download the eicfg_removal_utiliy.zip The uzip this file into its own folder.

Troubleshooting

The inability to open the disc image with write access is, by far, the most
common error. Make sure that the disc image is not read-only, that you have

currently in use by another application.

Technical Details
=================
This works by toggling the deletion bit in the UDF file table, which instructs
the operating system to ignore the file and to treat it as if it does not exist.
By not physically removing the file, this eliminates the need to rebuild the
ISO, and makes this sort of fast, unintrustive patching possible. This also
makes it possible to reverse the patch and to restore the image to its original
state, if so desired.

ei.cfg Removal Utility versions 1.1 and later use a slightly different patching
method than version 1.0, and as a result, the newer versions cannot reverse the
patches performed by version 1.0, and vice-versa; to reverse a patch that was
performed by version 1.0, you must use version 1.0.
Since version 1.0 existed for only 8 hours before being replaced by version 1.1,
this should not be a problem for most users.

After the eicfg removal is run on the .iso file, you can then burn it to a DVD using FREEWARE ImgBurm. Burn at 4x speed with a check mark in the Verify Box

Its worked for me but w/o DVD because system recovery is builtin in my system. Thanks alot Mr. Arc , Doc Brown for your kind help. I will be thankful to you. But one thing irritating me why I can't access to safemode, why F8 doesn't work for me.

By running system info.exe, I am getting a error. Error file is attached.

.net framework 4 installed but when I executed the file an error coming when installing it. I downloaded it from FileHippo.com

Should I do all steps? ... I think my system is also infected and I haven't any antivirus because I uninstalled AVG it wasnt removing viruses, I tried Avast but it was disabled, I tried alot to enable but all in vain. I want scan and virus free my system, then I will transfer my personal data to external HDD, but want virus free system otherwise it will infect my external HDD, which is brand new not used still. After transfer I will complete clean my system and install new win7 again. Thats my plan. Is it possible??
