I need to install another version of ubuntu

This is a snapshot of my disk management

The 6.09gb partition contains the SWAP file for Ubuntu
The 17.07 partition contains Ubuntu itself
and the 121.9gb partition contains Windows 7

I need to install another version of ubuntu for a project
I want to delete the OEM partition since WIndows 7 only allows up 4 primary partitions
Is it safe to do that? first of all, how do you do that since if you right click on it, your only option is to click on help?

Or instead of downloading adware you could use the one windows comes with. also the OEM might not be too safe to delete

Would a virtual environment work for your second version of Ubuntu? You could set the virtual Ubuntu up inside of the host Ubuntu. That way you don't have to worry about messing with partition and you will have two instances of Ubuntu.

Looks like, from your screenshot, you already have 4 partitions. If you FORCE the creation of a fifth, your partitions will then be converted into Dynamic Disks -- something that Linux can't recognize.

To get more partitions, you would have to do the following:
1) migrate the contents of an existing logical partition to an external drive
2) change the logical partition to an extended partition
3) recreate the logical partition INSIDE the extended partition -- leaving room for another partition
4) migrate the contents of the original logical partition to the new logical partition you just created

You can have any number of partitions inside the Extended partition.

Realize those, this is likely to hose up GRUB because the partition sequence has changed. So, you might have to regenerate the GRUB config file to be able to boot again.
