Okay, so i uninstalled the pre-installed Microsoft Office Word Starter and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 because i can't print with my printer and now the problem got worse. Whenever I'm installing a new Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 it shows the problem "Error 1321. Setup cannot modify the file C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office\Microsoft Office 2010 Tools\Microsoft Office Picture Manager.lnk. Verify that the file exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update it. And my printer is Canon ip1300. I remember the problem started is because maybe, when I click something in the options of my windows office, my printer won't work with my laptop. I remember that it was the "update" setting. I have microsoft starter which then become microsoft visualization handler, i don't know why. and the microsoft word 2010. and when i tried printing with the other laptop, it worked. so i guess the problem is in my laptop. and whenever i'm printing it is saying "now printing body of -file name here- on the canon inkjet ip1300" Can please someone help me :(((

I already saw this solution and I think that is not the right solution for my problem. I just want to re-install my Microsoft Office Starter which is pre-installed when I got my laptop. How can I bring it back? :( I don't have any Microsoft Office here in my laptop :(

Did you create the recovery disks ? Sometimes they create a 2nd or 3rd disc which has applications that came with the laptop or desktop

How do you know where that "recovery disk" is? The thing that is here is the "Microsoft Office 2010 Click-to-Run (Protected) (Q:).

I don't think you can reinstall Office Starter unless it's on the recovery disks or a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive. (These recovery options would restore your computer to original factory specifications.) Recovery disks may be provided by the computer manufacturer or the user may be prompted to create recovery disks during the initial computer setup/activation. If your Acer laptop has a hidden recovery partition you may be able to access it this way:

1. Power on the machine
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
4. Click “OK” to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes)
6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit

   Warning
It's possible that Office Starter will not be included in the recovery disks or recovery partition due to Microsoft licensing limitations on computer manufacturers. Office Starter is apparently tied in to the "OEM Partner Program" which limits how OEM manufacturers may distribute certain Microsoft products. See link to Consumer Experience Walkthrough.)
Microsoft Office Starter 2010

In the alternative, there are other free programs that are very compatible with Microsoft Office products. Two full office suites are OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

If you use recovery disks or a hidden recovery partition, then yes, your computer will be returned to factory specifications. It will be exactly like it was the day you got it. All of your personal data will be removed.

But if you install OpenOffice or LibreOffice your personal data will not be affected. :)

As in all the programs? :O Even my files? So I should back up my files first right?

Is OpenOffice or LibreOffice the same as Microsoft Office? Does the files in Microsoft Office also compatible to those? What is the better office between the two? Thanks.

You would definitely want to back up all of your personal data. Files, photos, music, documents, videos, everything. You would also want to have any licenses, activation codes, etc for any programs that you installed. If you use recovery disks or the hidden recovery partition everything on the hard drive will be removed and it will be restored to the exact condition it was in when you first bought it.

Personally, I prefer LibreOffice. But since they're both free, you could try one for a while and then try the other. See which one you prefer. Neither OpenOffice nor LibreOffice is 100% the same as Microsoft Office. I'd say they are about 99% the same. Microsoft has some proprietary features that cannot be copied by other companies due to copyright and licensing restrictions. But OpenOffice and LibreOffice are so close to Microsoft Office that the average user won't notice any problems.

Oh okay. Great! Thank you so much for the help. I needed to have these LibreOffice or OpenOffice as for now because I'm a student. I will do that recovery thing when I really need to have MicrosoftOffice. I have one question. My brother have the same laptop as mine and his laptop got Microsoft Office Starter also. Can I copy the files consisting of that Microsoft Office Starter and paste it in my Program Files here in my laptop?

Since Microsoft Office Starter apparently uses different licensing restrictions, each copy of Office Starter might be tied in to a specific computer. I don't know if it's physically possible to copy it / move it from one machine to another and still have it work correctly. Also, I'm not a lawyer so I can't offer any advice if what you are asking is legal under those licensing restrictions. :zip:

Just a thought.
Windows Office Starter that came with the computer time has expired. If the time trial period has expired you will have to buy Windows Office in order to continue to use it.

Thank you :) I'm not yet trying if that is okay. And btw, I tried to print thru OpenOffice and LibreOffice, but again, the document won't print :( First of all, I uninstalled Microsoft Office Starter and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 because I can't print with it and I thought the problem is with the Microsoft Offices. But then, it's the same in OpenOffice and LibreOffice :(

Oh, what I know is that it is free and they are installed already in laptops that have Microsoft Starter.

I just found this in my search - it includes a download link for Office Starter (just scroll down the page). Thank you :) Will reply to you if it worked :)

Aww, it won't work D: it says "There was a problem setting up Microsoft Office Starter 2010: There was a problem setting up Microsoft Office. Try running Setup again. If the problem continues, contact Microsoft Product Support." I tried to run again the Setup but it really won't work :(
