The time is always off by one hour

Hi! I have a problem. The time showing in the lower right corner of the taskbar is always behind one hour. I have the correct region set. If I change the clock to the correct time it will still show the wrong time when I restart my computer. I have also tried to syncronize it with internet time and it's still the wrong time when I reboot.

Any ideas how I can correct this problem?

I checked and the bios date and time is correct.

Try checking or un-checking the selection to adjust for daylight savings time.

I have the correct region set.

That one word caught my eye there. Do you mean you have set the correct region / location in Control Panel > Region and Language properties? If yes, it has nothing to do with default time zone.

Just to be sure, have you checked which time zone your system is using from Date and Time properties?

Yes the correct region is set in date and time settings. The clock is correct in bios. Why does windows 7 set my clock back when I restart the computer?

As Kari said Region has nothing to do with the clock. It is set based on Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) Coordinated Universal Time - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Also referred to as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and Zulu time, ex. 1200Z

I have done this but the clock still reverts back one hour when I restart the computer.

Are you using any proxies (maybe proxy server is in another timezone and thus setting your internet time to that zone)

No I use the regular ip for my location

OK, my idea is not valid in your case. I have heard about Windows sometimes "forcing" Daylight Savings Time in region which is not using DST. But you time zone is a DST zone, and even if it wasn't the DST only begins in two weeks back there.

Have you tried to use another UTC +1 zone instead, for example Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris? For your computer it is the same which zone to use as long as it is UTC +1, it might be worth to check if this fixes the issue.

I will try another setting, sometimes it works fine for a day or two and then the clock set it back one hour again. I try the brussel zone and report back later if it's working or not

Ok! Now I have tried everything but the clock still falls back one hour everytime I restart the computer. Could this be a bug in windows 7?

I would try replacing the battery in the motherboard if it is a desktop.

If it is a laptop, and you are loosing sleep on this issue , get hold of the tech. support and check whether they have any ammunition.

Just a thought.
Do you have any programs or utilities that when updated change the time?
I don't think it's a bug in Windows. A few billion Windows systems are not have this problem.
Could you check with your ISP and verify the time they use and your time when set correctly is the same.
