Back to windows XP. Won't Install on Hard drive?

I have a laptop here that I am trying to install Windows XP but when loaded all of the setup files it won't detect hard drive. But yet it will load the OS that is already on the hard drive?

First check for all the Win XP drivers for your hardware on the manufacturer's web site.
If your Win XP CD, does not support your Sata Controller, you will need to load drivers to uses at F6.
Load Sata Controller drivers with a floppy disk is the best way.

It's ok I found the problem. I had to disable the SATA in the BIOS. strange it is but done now thanks

NO need to reset the BIOS, if you load the Sata conroller drivers.
