Mine was updated yesterday by Windows Update - build 1500. No d/l available on my Connect page.

I like the older tray icon much better. I have been happy with the performance of MSE, and as previously stated - that is what matters most.

Now a little confused as I have the leaked version 2140. Now is the version I have the newest or is it just a false version number and stopping any updates.

I mean if 1501 is actually newer then will need to uninstall.

I think this question would effect many people on here as I am sure I am not the only one who installed this version.

I am confused. I downloaded MSE when it was available about a month ago and my version is 1.0.2140.0. So a new version is out with a lower number??

@ Kari - that is weird. mine doesn't do that... google takes 75% of all my internet activity in a given day. so i probably would've seen that at some point. maybe it's a regional thing?

I don't know what that was but it was so annoying I did a system restore. After system restore I was where I'd started, with older beta. And this weird thing was gone. Once again I updated MSE, and the rest of the story can be found here.

I had the same problem in XP never was able to get it down, but in Windows 7, today as soon as i re-installed MSE it topped to 50-60MB , but now it runs 32MB at idle.

May be theres a background Scaning running :rolleyes:

The downloads from connect are available again. Its build 1500 though. So it looks like they took down the 1501 build, and replaced it with 1500.

yes they indeed did that. Lucky i grabed 1501 yesterday. Its 6 days difference in development! (1500 signed on 6th and 1501 signed on 12th).

odd on mine I only appear to have mseces.exe running which is at 4,624k and its the new version.

Really interested in trying this, but I'm perfectly happy with my NOD32 installation.

Mine updated automatically within the product earlier today and it now shows 1500 in the "About" response. It also shows 1500 in the details of the executable. I checked Connect and there is no download section anymore. Did they pull 1501 due to bugs or something? 1500 seems to running well and much faster.
