At least one...me. I'm more interested in reliability and longevity, not speed.

Decided to get the GeminII S524, would this do it for the case: COOLER MASTER SAF-B82-E1 Case Fan - Newegg.com

I plan on OCing the cpu, ram and gpu but I have a plan I am sticking too. I am waiting on a new case and SSD in the mail. Once all the parts are put together, I will start messing with the speeds and seeing what I can get out of my FX and GTX 660. I might invest in some Mushkin Redline ram also, not sure yet:devil:

Neither one will fit as there are too high at over 6" and I have 5" clearance. As I stated I've decided to get the GeminII S52.
Need to find a 80mm case fan with good volume.

Looking to replace the stock cooler with 80mm fan.

It's a pretty good size cooler, look at the specs and determine if your case can fit it.

Well D if yo are thinking still I shoved this puppy into my Sandy Bridge and main tester - it is big but VERY efficient (300 watts cooling) and quiet

Just make sure the cooler is compatable with your CPU socket.

RAM overclocking is a bit more finicky than CPU-based clocking, but if you can readily set memory speeds without having to worry about the accompanied side effects then you should be golden. I haven't done any serious RAM clocking since the 939 days perhaps.

Or maybe it was when I killed off my Dominators? Yes, one of the two.

And Lady, you'll be joining the dark side soon enough as well. There's cookies and cake here; how can you say no to that?

The closest I plan on coming to overclocking is raising my RAM to 1600MHz (which I did before installing the OS).

Wise decision from one who admittedly is not terribly knowledgeable on these things . I have 2400Mhz capable sticks in my Ivy and I run them at 1866Mhz but in all honesty when the machine has defaulted to 1333Mhz at times (Asus feature) I found it really did not make that much difference.

In fact I cannot find any or much evidence for using high clock speeds on the RAM - as an ordinary run of the mill user.

I did a fair bit of research through the G Skill forum before I bought my RAM and that was the general consensus of feeling there and what I base my comments on.

That should be correct all ram defaults at 1333mhz but the CPU memory controller like amd can run native 1866 intel I think is 1600 could be wrong but Overclocking Intel Boards do much better and have more memory options

I was just supposing that it was the Asus board. I have not had a board yet that can support over 1333Mhz so that makes it that much clearer now.

Ivy Bridge and Bulldozer (AM3+) default to 1600, if at least 1600 ram is installed.

So I am at work, but have RAM that appears to be clocked at 1333 is there a guide or resource anywhere on what I can do to get this up to 1600?

Dude, on your second pic I am seeing DRAM FREQ as 800.0 Mhz x2=1600 You can always go into the bios and see what your ram is running. Mines is running 1600, says so in BIOS plus I am running a AMD FX-6100 CPU, which does just fine with 1600Mhz ram. You can also check your mobo specification page, it tells you what your mobo can support. For example, on my mobo page it says *Support for DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules (Note 2)*

*(Note 2) To support a DDR3 1866 MHz (and above) memory, you must install an AMD AM3+ CPU first.*
