Installation: Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit

You cant be getting these files from microsoft. win 7 32 bit is abt 2.5 gig, win 7 64 bit is abt 3. gig.

The name on the second file is correct but if you are not getting it from microsoft you are dealing with an unknown file system

Ken

He is maybe talking about language pack iso's
No you don't burn that language iso you burn the windows 7 and you mount the language iso(but it is burnable too...)

To clear thing out... The Multi-Language file is not from Microsoft, never been and thats why I didn't use it:P

The second file, the one starting with numbers, I got from Microsoft, therefore that one seems like a good copy.

So currently I have gotten rid of the multi-language file, and have a .iso disk image named "7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD" that is around 3GB large... Now, what is the best way to proceed from this situation?

Thanks
Axel

Im not talking about a language pack, it was a copy of Win7 64-bit with language already installed and already pre-activate software :P

But forget that one and see my previous post :P

I saw your previous post. and you saw mine so Im going to assume you got it from MS. Burn it to dvd and do a clean install. That should work

Good luck

Haha ok :P

But do you have to do something special at the burning process to make the CD "bootable" (or does it work by default?)

Just burn the ones with the numbers...

And in your burning software use the option "Image burning" or "burn a iso" don't do a data burn...

Depends on what you are using to burn it. The ISO should be bootable by itself it is a legit ISO.
