My first ever Win7 BSOD

Thats what the BSOD was about, it came out after i exited Heroes of Newerth, never had this issue before or anything similar with vista.. happened around 12:24AM if the time matters. any clues?

First can you go to c:\windows\minidump zip that dump file (*.dmp) and upload it to us using the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in your reply.

Doubt it. You did get a blue screen right? if you search for *.dmp it will find where they are stored.

2 days ago I also had the 1st BSOD ever with windows 7 x64

Without the associated software to read the dmp log, its going to be hard to pin the problem down exactly... 9 times out of 10 a BSOD is related in one way or the other with a corrupt/bad driver... what was the last program that you installed before the problem started??

You will be better off waiting for someone with a debugger but it appears that the offending files are all OS files.

What is happening on your system ( i havent read the thread)?

Was this just one BSOD? If so dont worry abt it. If not since they are OS files you should run sfc/scannow to check the system files. If that doesnt work restore from backup, if that doesn't work The GOLD standard a clean re-install

sfc opens a CMD window & then disappear, I will wait for next BSOD before I get serious into looking this problem.

EarlZ .. after consultation with my esteemed colleague, Ken (ZigZag) it seems that your problem lies with the NTSF.sys file. Unfortunately, the best approach to fix this is going to be a re-install of the OS... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ... some day you eat the bear, the other day the bear eats you....

No dumpfile found with todays date, those crash dumps came from testing some ram sets

Thats not them. Dump files are in the format dd/mm/year.dmp

I had the same BSOD yesterday with an error code of X'3b'. Had dumps turned off though. I was playing around with Aero stuff and Ease of Access stuff. Shortly thereafter BSOD.

Wonder if it was a nvidia driver?

Found few files corrupt & it repaired on its own. Hope it remains like this.

Thats not them. Dump files are in the format dd/mm/year.dmp

I used search and typed in *.dmp those are the ONLY results i got. Anything else?

Maybe i turned off the dump function, can anyone tell me where to enable it again so that the next time i get that error ill get sure to get the minidump

Yes, the standard bluescreen with that specific message. First time I've ever heard of it and it made my wonder why a service made it BSOD ( if it was a service ) the next time I see it ill take a photo.
