App to force any extra windows to not open?

Back in the good ol' days of Win95, someone wrote this little app - I forget what it was called - that enabled you to dictate how many browser windows could be open simul. The user could set that number. This was to prevent unwanted adverts from opnening in new windows. So, if the user set this to 1, and you went to a page that wanted to open an advert in another window - that window would not open. It worked great.

I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, no such app exists. Yet a search yielded nothing (unless maybe I didnt do a good job searching).

Anyone know of any app?

Dont agree that I am violating rule 13. I am not looking to block ads on this site, but to prevent multiple browers from opening from other sites.

Anyone know of an app that does this?

My apologies for not clarifying that I think the rule applies to blocking ads from other websites too. At least that it my understanding after exchanging PMs with an admin on this topic many months ago. Even without that PM exchange, I would think that the admins would want to extend the courtesy of covering expenses via ads to other websites as well.

Anyway, I don't know of an app that will do what you mentioned; maybe others do.
