Unknown folder has appeared in my 'My Downloads' folder.

A folder named'-Unsafe-' has appeared in my downloads folder. The obvious thing to do, I suppose, would be to open it to see what is in it, however the clue to NOT doing this is in the folder name!!
Has anyone any experience if this??

Right click the folder and scan it with your Anti-virus.

What anti-virus do you have? If you were downloading something you AV could of detected a virus and renamed it un-safe

Welcome to the forums!

As suggested, scan the folder first. If your AntiVirus has a sandbox you could scan it/ open it there to see whats inside.

Or you could just make a restore point and then delete it after scanning it of course. If it is "needed" then you have your restore point to fall back on.

I know what you meant Of course I know you know that you shouldn't make a restore point without a virus check first. But just for the user to make it clear
