Solved I need to choose a Windows XP Professional version

On the internet I found "Windows XP Professional SP3 (x86) Integrated".

(1) What does "(x86) Integrated" mean?

(2) Should I go for a 32 bit OR 64 bit Professional version?

Melita... Integrated means is has SERVICE PACK 3 already in the Windows . (x86) means its 32-bit version . If you have more then 2GBs then you would want to go with 64-bit version of XP Pro . Windows XP Professional x64-bit only has Service Pack 2 . I believe.

That`s the only version of XP you would ever want. Don`t go with 64 bit XP.

You can always install 4GB RAM with XP 32 bit. It will see only 3.2-3.5GB but that's still better than 2 GB.

XP Pro 64 bit had problems that won't be fixed so you would be better off with 32 bit. Just keep in mind that support for XP ends in around a year, which means there will be no new security updates. Any security holes discovered after that will remain unpatched which will leave your computer vulnerable to attack. I can see running an XP machine to the last minute to maiximize use from it (I was using XP until last summer) but it would make no sense to spend money on one now.

But Windows XP 64 is not built with the consumer 32 bit XP kernal, it only goes to SP2 as it is based on Windows 2003 Server and is better than the 32 bit XP. SP3 on 32 bit XP is approximately SP2 on 64 bit XP.The BIG problem is drivers. Most things do not have drivers for it. If you can get drivers it is a good OS but frankly new peripherals don't support it. It is MS supported to 2015. 32 bit drivers do not work.

Unless you want a headache go for 32 bit x86 XP Pro or home and make sure it has SP3. If you are a Geek and love a challenge go for it. Runs fine on a VM.

I will go in for the Windows XP Professional SP3 (x86) Integrated, as all of you have suggested. Even without Microsoft support I am going to use it because I like it too much to give it up.

I also have Windows 7, which I am already using. I am installing XP in a different computer. So I wouldn't end up without a computer even if I have trouble with XP in the future.

The x64 version is preferable if you have enough RAM to spare (since it's built on the server 2003 codebase), but the problem it has are drivers, as it needs specific x64 drivers, the 32 bits one don't work.

Otherwise, the x86 with SP3 is very good and has proved to give little to no trouble when running everything you can throw at it.
