Im just going to reinstall my OS, as dell said that is the only thing that would fix it. The only problem is will a win7 iso connected to my product key work for a complete reinstall and will i need to back my drivers up?

The computer is a Dell.

Do you have a Recovery Partition that you can use to bring the computer back to factory defaults?

What Model is this machine?
Dell Inspiron XXX, or something else?

Everything you need is here to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If you stick with the tools and methods given you'll get and keep a perfect install.

With Dell you can delete all partitions except the small OEM Tools partition which contains bootable Dell Diagnostics, but first run them to see for sure that they work as if they don't you can delete all partitions during install: Dell Diagnostics Utility - How to Run the

Ah you found it no probs. Personally I think it (AVG period) isa piece of twaddle and I also founf that getting really rid of it was going the HKEY > Software listings and deleting the left over crap

Yes mate and the CURRENT_USER > Software the entries are usually IN both HKEY sites and the AVG - what ever rubbish has embedded it self there Symantec is a doozy I just click on and delete the entire entries after just a quick check inside it.

I have used this method for some game sites that do not appear in Programs and Features or Revo etc and it just takes a bit of research sometimes to find who writes the stuff.

I know I am probably going to cop a hiding for this but it does the job with the ones you cannot get rid of
