Solved Windows 7 Professional Start Menu Search; No Results

Please help. On my new computer, an HP Pro 3500 with a windows 7 professional 64 bit operating system and a core i5 processor, whenever I type something in the search bar on my start menu, nothing shows up and when I click "Show More Results", it says it can't locate it or I don't have permissions. I am the only one with an account on the computer.

You have the wrong end of the stick - this is the search box when you click rb:, not the general Windows search.

I know exactly how to use Windows Search ( and that is what I was referring to) by going to Start and typing in request.
This program - Everything- IMO. is a much better alternative.

Nothing I say to you will make a difference.
I am not talking about rebuilding the index and using Windows to search.

I AM talking about the Windows Search when you click on the start button on the lower left of the screen. Cmd, regedit, nothing.

I don't want to download something, I want to fix the computer's internal search/indexing. I'll try rebuilding but it being me it probably won't work.

That is your prerogative, but by downloading the program (which is extremely popular) you would at least see the difference.

You can always uninstall it later, but I think if you would try it, you would love it.

I'm sorry if you have been following the back-and-forth, that has only muddied the waters and had no real purpose, other than to confuse the issue.

Yeah, it'll do but when the windows one still worked it was faster, this being a new computer started up the first time on march 10th

Why would you have to start "Everything" every time you play a game?
The program is only to search for files that you can't find.

No that isn't what I mean. It's that when I modify the game files, the actual folder is hidden.
