Solved recommendation on an internal DVD-R/W drive

Ordering the last parts for my build. My Sony DVD-R/W has been acting up (slow read times).
Is the Lite-On iHAS124-04 any good?

Any other drives I should be lookin at? I don't need a Blu-ray drive. I would like the depth of the drive to be the same as my Sony drive (a little over 6 1/2"). I will need to stealth my drive.

I've used Lite-ON models and found them to be very good.

Samsungs and NEC's should also be considered.

I had some LiteOn's and they tended to be noisy. They were in the $25 range at newegg.com I would avoid the inexpensive LiteOn's.

I have some Samsung and some LG's and they work great.

I do a lot of audio CD burning and I have a bank of 5 USB connected Samsung drives that I use for audio CD production. I can burn 5 audio CD's (or any other CD/DVD) at a time.

Depending on what you want to spend, you should go blu-ray.

LiteOn is widely used. I believe that Sony has rebranded some of their drives.

I've had a couple of LiteOns die rather young, though. I've had better luck with Samsung and Asus. I haven't owned any LG drives, but they have a favorable reputation.

My BluRay burner is Pioneer.

I've also had 2 Lite On DVD burners and they were both very noisy. I have an LG Blue Ray burner and an ASUS DVD burner both work very well and are fairly quiet.

I've used over 10 Lite On's with very little complaints, only recently did one DVD writer prove to be very slow reading when ripping music. Called Lite-One shipped it back and they replaced it with a perfect new unit. Not bad odds, I'm sure Samsung's, ASUS and LG's are good as well. My only Blu-Ray unit another Lite-On runs perfect and it blazes thru rip's !
