Google Drive triples free storage to 15GB

Google Drive's capacity to store your files will jump by a factor of three, the company said Monday, rising from 5GB to 15GB.

Google made the announcement just before Google I/O developers conference begins this week. The changes will "roll out over the next couple of weeks," Google said in a blog post.

Google has ad ons like all the other browsers such as do not track me, add blockers, incognito mode etc. I do not understand the distrust of google. I mean essentially, are they doing something that any other browser doesn't that you could not circumvent to your liking?

Right now, Gmail has 10GB of storage, and Drive has 5GB. The new plan simply combines those capacities into one, which equals 15GB for the whole deal. It's a bit of a shell game, but could come in handy if you need the storage of one service a lot more than the other.

Google isn't a browser, (there is Google Chrome, that is the browser). Google is a company and they do live off ads and selling information, just like Facebook. I tend to avoid giving my stuff in the hands of such companies as they could sell info about me just as easily, applying some doublethink in the right places.

I trust more Dropbox, as they just sell their hosting services and aren't sitting on the biggest search engine and the biggest video hosting site of teh world. Besides, I've got around 18 Gb of free dropbox space off referrals alone.
