Yes, Nommy, I only started doing this a month-six weeks ago myself, I'd never even attempted to before. But since I had the chance to get a relatively recent copy of Photo-Shop (CS2) I've been getting into it, but I'm no-where near in the class of some here. I've been a bit quiet lately, tho, been too busy to devote the time.

I know what you mean tho, I cringe when I look at some of my early efforts.

Only six weeks?! Wow, you're a quick learner then! Lol yeah, I can relate very much to that-.-
In the process of learning to use Photoshop I kind of made an agreement with myself that I need to learn at least one new thing (or effect) each day. It's lots of fun that way, because you encounter new things each day, and the more time you put into it, the better and quicker you learn to use them good

I like your agreement.

I like to try to pick something new up each time I use PS, and I actually seem to! A lot of
it has been by trial and (much) error, but a couple of Photo-Shop for Dummies books, the
PS 'help file' (which is actually a pretty comprehensive manual in it's own right), and some
very valuable tips and advice from fellow members here has helped immensely.

And it has been a lot of fun!

even use layers, it's just straight C&P.

Heh, compared to my first sig that's a masterpiece! I'm not even going to attach it out of sheer shame

I actually didn't knew about any help file until now, thanks for mentioning it! I mostly use tut vids from youtube and such to learn new things, or I ask friends or family to show me some of their skills (most of my mother's side of the family is in graphics, my mom actually is the only Jaqaur designer in the Netherlands!)

Here's one I just made. I got the "ribbon" idea from a design contest I'm in and thought it would be nice to learn how to create it

It most certainly gave me some cool idea's for future sigs and cool ribbon effects Britton, but I've learned só much in the past few hours alone that I'm going to take a while to let it all sink in before my brain starts to cramp

Since I'm only like 5 rep points away from being a power user and thus being able to "wear" a full-sized sig, I decided to try something new and make myself a nice one!

Since I don't have CS5 extended I don't have the entire 3D menu, so I tried to make it look as close to 3D text as I possibly could, and I think I nailed it quite a bit
